They were probably never white they look horrible with the gray for sure. I think they will not look good with any of the plans . So I guess replace them Does the FP actually work? I think the tile color on the hearth is a good choice for the colors you want to use.

We hope it works it is gas logs. But the house was such disarray when we purchased it that we have not gotten to see if they work yet.

They look naturally yellow as there is no variation between those right above the firebox and those on the bottom.

IMO first find out if the hearth is needed with gas in your area. Then what is your style ? You have to choose the finish that work with your style and no point IMO doing anything until you get that FP inspected .

The trim is almost Wedgwood/Williamsburg blue. It is every where. It is going. Swiss coffee is the plan for the trim today! LoL.

So we are updating the fireplace to ventless gas logs. The outside of the chimney has been capped and repointed bricks. So the world is my oyster! The husband gave me the go to retile. I am very traditional and a little bohemian spirit with my taste. Home will be filled with mahogany English antiques. We are keeping the home in the 1920 style but updated. I am leaning towards marble or delft tile. Suggestions? Thank y’all!

Its honestly not quite as bad as I envisioned - still, there's enough wrong with it that re-tiling is indeed the best choice. If the blue is going, then lets come up with a comprehensive color scheme for the house that embraces your mahogany furnishings and red-browwn floors - what kind of wood? From there the choice of tile or brick for fireplace will become clearer. You'll want to wait til you have more things in place (eg tile, fabrics, etc.) before choosing exact paint colors for walls/trim , but still you should have a pretty good idea from the start of where youre going. Your style sounds much like mine - i look forward to seeing it progress!

This room is really great . Paint the tile if you want to wait and decide to replace or not

I know I will be odd man out, but I wouldn't paint all that gorgeous trim. I would repaint the walls, though, as they need freshening up. You can start your scheme with the Wedgewood Gray (HC-146).

The white that pairs well with it is B.M. OC-151. I call that color a "universal white" because it works with just about anything. You have a beautiful older home. Congratulations.

that is a bery pretty room. gorgeous detsiling and beautiful light and a stately fireplace with lots of potential. i would replace the tile; as youll invest a small amount to repaint and most lilely end io redoing thrm anyway at some point to come ip to scale with all the pretty surroundings. a more updated tile or full marble surround woud look great. goid luck ; im sure it will turn out great

The tile color is so uniform I doubt the yellow is due to discoloration. My guess is this was the original color and that no amout of cleaning will change it. If you want a change would suggest replacing.

No way it faded that way. The horrid gray mantle is making it look all soo much worse. Did you put in the hearth? Seems like they would be more similar to the face tile.

Missing teeth! This the other fireplace’s twin on the opposite side. We are keeping the dark original brick from the vertical border in and painting the entire room one of the colors seen. The mantle is a reclaimed beam from the house. Just for those what want to know! Have a great day!
