Hi Everyone - we just had our Neolith Calcacutta counters in silk finish installed in our kitchen. I DO NOT recommend going with this product unless you are okay with a number of downsides. We utilized a certified Neolith fabricator who has lot of experience in working with this material. We did the mitered edges so that they were not white as well. Not only was this by far the most expensive product, but it was disappointing as well. You can see the white edges where it was mitered and there are defects from the moment of installation from which I was told are "normal" and acceptable. My seams (only two, that is nice) are VERY obvious and not what I would have expected. The material itself marks up when ANYTHING touches it basically. Put a cookie sheet on it and you have horrible black / gray marks everywhere that do not come out. I have been told you have to be willing to scrub it for that to happen and they recommended using acetone to get them out. Um....so now i am left with counters that cost me over $13k that I am not happy with from how they look (they look great from afar) and that mark up when anything touches it and I have to use a special something to try and get them out and that is not easy. If I could do it again, I would go with quartz or quartzite. These are not worth the pain and suffering along with the high cost and disappointing outcome. I went to some friend's house over the weekend where they had their new quartz counters installed, by the same fabricators we used and they look far superior to ours and they do not have the same issues. I read the reviews on here and chose it anyway and am devastated I did. I wish I had taken these reviews to heart and not listened to the fabricator's comments that these were one off experiences.

Thank you soooo very much! The slabs at Mondial are truly beautiful. Actually, they all look nice and deserve a look. I agree that photos do not do these slabs justice. I have not gone to these places. The Bianco Antico that I posted above was from New Age Stone on Creditstone (I think) - it runs parallel to Jane. You are absolutely correct in saying that we are both pining away from the same thing. For me, it's just this gut feeling. Unfortunatley, with the many delays that we have had with this kitchen, I have been out to look at granite along Jane Street a few times over the last 4 months and my tastes have changed considerably. I started off loving granite with extreme movement, then moved onto the gold tones - Ghibli gold, Madura gold, etc. I finally took my teens out with me and they absolutely hated the golds = too orangey for them and old-fashioned. As a result of all of their input, I think that I have just learned to suppress any excitement about granite. But I have this nagging feeling that the right Bianco Antico might be perfect - elegant, quiet, understated, but still beautiful especially on light cabinets. This would look especially good in my kitchen since we want Antique Brown on a chocolate stained island, so it would end up being light on light and dark on dark. Thanks for the names of the granite places - I am packing up the entire family and we will go on Saturday. Or better yet, I will drag them out one at a time as they finish exams this week and have some time off. I can't wait to go.

I absolutely love my Cosmopolitian White countertops - I have it in my condo with white ikea cabinets and I love the combo. It’s definitely beige, and not grey - my walls are “BenMoore Dove Wing” and it’s looks fantastic I stressed over this so much! But I’m thrilled with the results. My mom put Eternal Statuario (Silestone)in her kitchen and it’s nice with the white cabinets - but I love the subtle contrast of Cosmo White. Naturally we stress because there are so many choices (too many!). In reality a lot of them are nice so just go with your gut and don’t over process, that’s my tip....Looking back, of course I can say that now! All the best!!

@Joseph Corlett I am a bit confused about Enigma. I have read your comments and their website, but not clear on from a practical standpoint how it might differ from what is thought of as regular quartz, like Cambria, etc. does Enigma require a separate edge to be applied, similar to Dekton? appreciate your insight and knowledge is it porcelain?
