How much interior home design do architects typically do?
Comments (3)I honestly do not think there is a "typical" response for what an architect will do with respect to interior design. Having said that, our arch was not at all interested in performing that service; however, he had an in house design person with whom we could work for an additional fee. He was interested in our overall "feel" and "vision" for the house which was somewhat helpful. As much as I would have liked to work with a designer, we honestly were not willing to spend that type of money. Several outside designers were more per hour than our architect! I could not afford to spend that kind of money for someone to go "shopping" for me trying to find pieces/wallpaper/tile/flooring that I liked. Although a designer has resources that makes it easier to identify those items, our "look" is not mainstream, which meakes it more time consuming. I hope that helps. Comments (6)Hi Kudzu9, The next time you want the pictures to stay on the camera, simply copy them to the computer. The picture's were on the camera and I transfered 6 picture's from my camera to the computer. With this camera I can put a lock on them to keep from losing them by mistake. I always lock them in, but for some reason I over looked 2 pictures and forgot to put the lock on them. When I put them in the computer, 2 of them were not locked, had they been locked they would have stayed in the cameras memory card. There is nothing unique about it just because it is camera memory. I understand where you are coming from and you probably are more familiar with the digital camera than I am because when they first came out I didn't go out and purchase one right away, I was still using my old style camera. When I purchased my HP Printer I have never had a reason to use the slots for the memory card until now. For you it isn't unique because there are a lot more of them out there now. I am still learning about my camera and the software that came with it and as I learn I become more familiar with it too, it takes time but, I will eventually master how it works and if I run into a problem like I did this time, I trust that I can come here and get excellent help from you all. "Smiles" Thank you for your reply. Hi Owbist, Just happy to be of assistance Thirdfrt. Thank you and I appreciated the fact that you answered me so quickly with a great solution to my problem. It's nice to know that there are other ways to do things in case you have to go that way and I saved your information just in case I would have to go that way. When my 2 youngest grand children were just little tykes I could take well over 150 photos in an afternoon and evening. Many were garbage as I kept the camera on my knee clicking when they presented a suitable shot. I have two young grandchildren ages 8 and 3 years and I take a lot of pictures of them also but, if I don't like what I see I have the option to erase them at that moment and start over. Why save them if they aren't any good right? You must be well coordinated to be able to keep the camera on your knee, if that were me I would be dropping it and getting pictures of the ground instead of the kids. "LOL" Because of that I went out and bought a small tripod for the camera (it also takes videos)and that way I can get better shots or take a video if I want to. It helps. Thanks again for all of your help. thirdfrt!!!...See MoreI messed up bad. Can I get my money back?
Comments (10)They probably won't bat an eye (as long as DH helps them get it out of the car). If they hem and haw, ask for a credit toward a different purchase so they don't feel like they're being abused. Comments (1)Stu.. If you are changing the soil and putting it in a larger container, you can take most of the soil off and if you are a little unsure then leave some around the rootball to keep it intact. Its ok. First time is the hardest... I wouldn't wait to repot if you think it needs it. You want the tree to be at the height of its growing peak and that would be now.. Trees will start to slow down at the end of the season and you want to make changes to any tree at the height of it vigor... Which would be now. When we talk of acclimating our trees, we mean to keep them protected from the sun that they might be sitting in before you repot. If you placed them back in the same sunlight, it could really cause stress in the tree because of all of the changes.. So giving it time and letting it adjust is the best for your tree. Lets say I have a tree that I'm repotting . I will take that tree and make sure it comes out of the container as a whole rootball. That should be a good indication it needs attention. I would either use my hands to shed the soil away from the sides or I would soak it in a bucket to help get rid of the extra soil.. You can use the hose to help get rid of the excess soil ( carefully) After I make my mix and have it ready( before I start the whole process) I would have my new container ready.. Put new soil in your container to the height that will keep the original top of the tree from the last container. Pack the soil in with your hands and gently tap the side of the container to help the soil settle into the container. Gently pack the soil around the stem so its firm and the stem is not moving around.... Stake the new tree and I would stake it with two stakes on each side of the new tree. Use gardening tape to help support the stem to the stakes so it doesn't move... This will help the roots take hold and make it able to recover . Repotting a tree shocks it and it needs a little rest. So I would also take the tree, give it a good soaking of water and place it in the shade for two weeks and then gradually increase the sunlight it received.. The water will run out of the container the first time you water after you repot. Remember.. Fast draining is good, but it will need another drink in a few days if you are in a hot climate. Don't over water, but give it some after repotting. It will bounce back after a few days.. Keep an eye on the water level after repotting. After it perks up and looks like its adjusted, go back to the wet/ dry cycle ! I hope this explains how to " acclimate". Have. A great night! Laura...See Morepalimpsest
