IMO the TV was too high there so the simple solution lean the art to cover the holes and move the tV to where it can be hung at proper view height . Or get a wall mount that allows the TV to drop for viewing and while the FP is not in use .

I got rid of the 90s ugly built in surround and the granite tiles and wanted to do minimalistic fireplace (husband won’t get rid of it) After ripping the tiles out, the trim is damaged by the glue or whatever it was used with the tile The trim kit from manufacture is $800 and I’m looking for alternative , I rather not having to put tile over this, any options to keep it minimalistic ?

Doubt its ventless or I wouldn't recommend. Size matters. Linears w flues $6-9K 5-7' wide Porcelain on a 20-21' tall tower would run $10-13K depending on material price per foot Plaster should save
