Yes, ozone treatment works - but it is harmful to individuals and the environment so it should only be used by those knowledgeable about the method, if other less toxic methods do not work. Smoke odors penetrate porous materials. (Not surprised you notice the odor with high humidity, I have a similar situation on my property due to house fire.) Until resolution, may want to use dehumidifier in the area to keep humidity low (30-40%). If vinegar/baking soda, and ozone treatments don't work, may want to consider sealing brick and grout with appropriate type of paint. Good luck removing odor.

it's getting there. the lamps are for light for you, not so much decorative accent pieces. (personally they aren't my cup of tea) To me it's a little silly having them over against the wall Unless you pushed back that chair and used it for reading or something? I still think a leather or golden tone chair would look better. for the sofa, try some of these pillow options. I do like your white chairs and the tv console, but that blue is a little too cool next to that stone. you need some wrmer elements to warm it up a bit. for the tv console, you can try a few items like they show here or this one.

Thank you again to everyone who is “brainstorming” with us. To reiterate, We don’t necessarily hate the floors, or the fireplace the challenge here is that they just do not complement one another. Either one in a room without the other could work. Following up on some of the comments painting the grout seems like a reasonable thing to try. I believe it would make the floor more consistent and something that we could then work with (wall colours and accents to tie it in). I’m including 3 optionss for grout paint colors aganst 2 different colors of tile. Area rugs would certainly help break up the flooring and make the space more cosy so following up on some of the suggestions we have a couple of options from crate and barrel in the following images. Lastly we have two paint colours that were suggested Blackfox for potentially painting the fireplace brick and steamed milk as a possibility for wall color. Thoughts?

Keep the tiles, they are antique and they are allowed to be flawed. I would consider painting the mantle itself the green color of the urns or maybe a deeper version of that. I am not sure that wood was ever meant to be stained. They did paint wood a lot, even in the 19th c. Let the fireplace be part of the Architecture of the house. It does not need to match your furniture in any way.
