I find Glysomed does the best at long term moisturizing repair, but it does leave my hands slippery - I try to use it at night. Otherwise, I use St. Ives hand creams.

I will usually buy unscented and pick up Cerave or Aveeno....in bulk, at Costco. All over moisturizing including hands.

Coincidentally, my sister was at the dermatologist last week and those two products were recommended to her there.

In the past, I've bought expensive hand lotions and other than one, I can't say any of them worked any faster or better. Years ago Estee had a hand cream called Maximum Care and it was so effective, never failed me. Discontinued of course and any that have followed in that line are too heavily perfumed.

O'Keeffe's Working Hands - No weird smell, does the job, a little dab will do ya.

For hands, either Nivea or L'Occitane.

For moderately dry skin, I like Jergen's original cherry almond scent -- because it works well and it reminds me of my mother. For very dry skin, I use Jergen's to make my skin feel nice, followed by vaseline to seal the goodness in.

I like Udderly Smooth Foot Cream for rough places on my feet -- apply generously at night, wear socks. For some reason Jergen's and/or vaseline never did much for my feet.

I also like Jergens original cherry almond scent overall….hands, arms, even feet.

I used Jergen’s Ultra Healing lotion for a long time. A couple years ago our daughter gave me a bottle of this that I really like.

This time of year I occasionally get those painful cracks on the tips of my thumbs. The dermatologist recommended Aveeno Healing Ointment (not cream). It does help but ointments can be inconvenient.

So...I hesitated to answer your question because I do not really want to deal with the Anti-Fragrance brigade coming for me. However, I use bath and body works body lotion and body cream. I have over 50 different scents. And I really like them. Not just for the fragrance, which I like and my SO likes. I walk outside for exercise all year long. Does not matter how cold it gets. As a result, my skin gets really dry in the cool and cold months and if I do not moisturize it it gets really itchy and uncomfortable. The colder it gets, the heavier the lotion needs to be. So I tend to use Bath and Body works body CREAMS when it gets very cold and my skin needs it. I use the regular body lotion the rest of the time. I use them as hand lotion too. I like how moisturizing they are, and I like the scents.

My SO uses the Jergens cherry almond lotion. I think the BBW lotion works better but I suppose he does not want to go around smelling like a Snickerdoodle all the time.

For my arms and legs, I use Cerave. I get migraines from most odors, so I use fragrance-free everything, except I also use Gold Bond with the original "medicinal" scent. For some reason, that doesn't affect me. Go figure!

For the cracks on the fingers, try Norwegian Formula, I think it is an ointment, but I wonder if Vaseline works as well.Apply overnight and wear cotton gloves. During the day, wear the ointment (or Vaseline) with a finger cot, on the worst fingertips. You can take the finger cot off as needed, then put it back on.

I can’t wear CeraVé, it smells like cigarette smoke on me.

Cetaphil does well for me, but it is so thick. I like Aveeno most of the time.

For my face? Pond’s.

Like @amylou321 I love scented things. Trader Joe's has pumpkin body butter in a tub, so reasonably priced. It's sweet, but not overly strong. It smells soooo good. But I love anything pumpkin scented.

Amylou, you are terrible for wearing fragrance...HAHAHA! KIDDING of course! Could not resist! But really though, I love BBW stuff but unfortunately, I can't use the fragrance too much and I think it would be great if they had a fragrance free group of the lotion, body lotion, shower gel and hand soap etc. For the people that like the feel of the product but cannot handle the scent. There are millions of us that would like that!

For a best hand cream, I really like the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. I've found that it actually heals and gets rid of dry cracked skin on my hands.

DH used to get terribly sore cracks in his fingers. He's been using the Neutrogena hand cream for years ...the norwegian formula... and no more cracks.

I've had a lot of dry hard skin on my heels and find Foot Nanny really helps.

My hands used to get terribly dry in winter and the cracks really hurt. This two part regime is incredibly effective. Spray Porters Lotion on hand and rub in and follow up with food grade coconut oil, virgin if you don't mind smelling like coconut or unscented. I've simply never found anything better than coconut oil--and it took me 75 years to discover it. When you're cooking and your hands are in and out of water, it's great to be able to rub in coconut oil and not have to worry about getting hand cream chemicals in your food.

Dermasil. I have cocoa butter & aloe Dermasil. Or utter cream or O'keefe. People keep giving me Bath & Body works...and the smell is too strong. I regift it!

In Calgary the air is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooo dry the lotion industry makes a killing here six months a year. With me working retail and handling cardboard boxes and dusty products most of the day, my hands end up dry cracked and bleeding. Glysomed heals them quickly. I also like EOS Shea Butter hand lotion.

LOL, nicole, I hear you! A friend gave me a gift card to B&BW. Someone gave it to her and she couldn’t use it. I actually had a headache after testing different creams/fragrances in their store. I ended up giving the gift card away, so it passed through a few people.

For my hands, Mary Kay Satin Hands. I always use unscented, but I got in a hurry and accidentally bought the citrus/rose scent the last time. It’s not TOO bad so I can still use it.

It’s my opinion that scented products tend to be very drying. I have no scientific basis for that opinion, though.

I use an all-natural, scent-free moisturizer lotion for my face and body. It's made here in Canada, called Patrick Curelle. I just love it and don't know what I'd do without it.

Three kinds of CeraVe here. Lotion daily for face. Cream *all over me* after shower and on hands as needed. Healing Ointment (in the dark blue tube) on hands in winter. And Blistex for lips. I think all this stuff is petroleum based, just in different intensities. I have used the Norwegian Formula as well.

chisue....since I have gotten older (75) or since the cancer, (surgery only for stage 3...no chemo or radiation because I opted out just because) and my skin is in bad shape (flaky and like crinkled tissue paper) I was thinking of buying CeraVe because a dermatologist on youtube recommended that brand and that is what she uses but she is quite a bit younger than I am. Would this work for someone my age...I am getting desperate, really. (And...does it have a scent to it???)

Nola, I love the Cerave body lotion and have used it for years. It has no fragrance. I am just a few years younger than you, and I have very dry skin. Also, I've used Kiehl's Creme de Corps, which is a bit heavier. It's expensive, but I use it for a few days here and there if things are really bad.

You can buy Beekmans directly from their shop. They used to carry a wider range of stuff when I first discovered them.

Depending on your skin when mine was cracking perhaps 20 years ago the doctor I had at that time suggested I take less baths and showers. It was difficult but it stopped making my skin cracking and flaking.

Anyone besides me ever find that Bath and Body works lotions/sprays SCENTS do not hold? They seem to all turn into the same icky smell after a few hours. I quit buying for my girls who thought their stuff was THE BOMB for a few years. I couldn't stand the 'after smell'

nola_anne -- I need the VeraVe *cream*. I only use the lotion on my face. (I'm 81.) Yes, this is in a tub, often with a plunge dispenser. In cold weather I like the Healing Ointment in the tube for my hands. It's really dense as it comes out of the tube, but skin quickly absorbs it. A little goes a long way, and it's not at all greasy. These products are unscented as far as I can tell. They aren't marketing exclusively to women. I've got my DH using it! Costco has regular sales on CeraVe cream, usually one large jar plus a smaller one.

Me go-tos are CeraVe, Aquaphor, Nivea. I just thought of this the other day...I had picked up a "hydrating" mask like at Marshalls...came in a little jar and was getting ready to put it way, but I was thinking why not use something like that on your hands...probably wouldn't be super obsorbant on the palms but might help on the backs of your hands.

chisue...thanks so much. I ordered the cream. I used Mary Kay on my face and haven't been as happy with it as in the past, so when I use that up, I'll try the lotion you recommended. I may get the healing ointment for my feet...they are tough as leather on the soles and heels. I have had a hard time finding something that wasn't greasy. Here's hoping this is the one for me, thanks so much!

malfleur03...my doctor proposed the same thing...it's hard for me to take less baths and showers. I never feel right unless I have one or the other and a clean set of clothes each day!
