If 'it has never been repotted or potted up' the plant would have a tendency to shed older leaves much earlier than would a plant that was situated in a pot such that its roots had room to run. There are several potential answers to your questions, but figuring out the actual cause:effect relationship might be more difficult than focusing on making sure you have the plant's basic preferences well covered. Have you been fertilizing? flushing the soil at regular intervals? While a nutritional issue probably isn't to blame for the plant's 'floppy' appearance, it very likely could be the reason for the light or mottled coloration, if indeed that's not a genetic issue common in all new foliage. I'm not suggesting you repot this plant today or even next month. Over the long term, I'd establish goals that include a full repot (June) into an appropriate medium (one you can water to beyond saturation w/o having to be concerned the soil will stay wet/soggy so long it wreaks havoc with root function/health), monitor closely and get control over watering practices, and get the plant on a good nutritional supplementation. In fact, all your plants would be served well by that exact strategy ...... and I'm sure you'd be very pleased with your newfound ability to maintain all your plants in good vitality. You'll usually always find the best potential to regain the most ground when trying to resolve the adversities your plants fact when you focus on the basics. Once you have the3 basics under control, you can branch out and fine tune your strategies if you like. Surprisingly though, I treat all my plants the same way - the only significant difference being how often they are watered - but even that is simplified because I'm able to do that on a rather rigid schedule. FWIW - root congestion will cause growth to stall and vitality to wane, so plan on repotting and/or dividing every 2-3 years. Things good to know: * Repotting is more extensive than potting up. * The plant blooms better when roots are tight, but the stress of tight roots negatively affects vitality and growth rate, so find what you consider to be your balance point, but don't let it decline to the point it's circling the drain before you do an intervention. * It will do much better in the 5:1:1 or equal, than in most off the shelf versions of container media. If I'm to be precise, I should say the soil provides much better opportunity to for your plant to do well than most off the shelf versions of container media. I added the 'opportunity' qualifier because there are influences of the 'make or break' variety, other than media, that can be limiting to the degree it won't matter if your plant is in even the 'perfect' soil. * You should also take some time to think about an appropriate nutritional supplementation regimen, and it should be based on soil choice and watering habits. I like this combination. I got all excited and was going to ask how much direct sun the Sansevieria was getting until I noticed the window panes. I have a number of Sans that I want to put in the ground and this gives me another option. Thanks for posting this.

Get rid of it. It is too large for a houseplant. I had one for a few years that I moved from a 2 or 3 gallon Home Depot Xmas pot up to a 24 inch (or larger) container. New leaves looked great but in a few months were tattered and torn and repeated the next year. Heavy to drag inside and outside. Finally let it outside one winter to let Jack Frost have it. Get the standard BOP plant instead but even then it is quite large - at least they will bloom once in a great while in a pot.
