Would love some input on my kitchen cabinets!
Comments (90)@raee_gw zone 5b-6a thank you! I admit I absolutely love design and feel so attached to the choices made. That glass tile in kitchen was so gorgeous, I wanted it to the ceiling. It is so, so pretty. The contractors would literally stop and touch the fireplace wall. That part was fun, too. Craftsman 👍🏻...See MoreKitchen update worth it? Comments (20)Do you love the kitchen and how it functions ? If you do then refacing can be an option otherwise it is a waste of money. What I seee in that space is you do not have enough storage and that to me as buyer would be the first thing I would notice . The lower cabinets are dated as to function the upper as to style but it looks like a decent kitchen if you were selling right now. I assume you want to enjoy this space and IMO 40K to fix the things that can't be fixed without new more functional cabinets is a mistake. 5- 10 yrs down the road who knows what people will want .. Declutter it is amazing how much space you can find when you get rid of stuff you honestly don't use. The first step to that is empty all the cabinets then put back only what you actually use and near the place you use it. I start by telling my clients to get rid of all plastic storage stuff and get some glass pieces to replace what you honestly need with a DW it is really minimal what you have to store for leftovers etc. Change all the light bulbs to LED 4000K and then look at your kitchen . What do you really want to change for you. I will say the color choices you are thinking of will be more dated than what you have....See MoreCambria 2022 Oakleigh - Kitchen Remodel
Comments (9)@shabbu, the Oakleigh looks amazing!!! It really is stunning and I know the veining is even more beautiful in person. I went around trying to find a sample of Oakleigh but failed. I did see the Brittanica again and still found it beautiful. I decided to do a cost saving design and go with a solid white on the long perimeter of my kitchen and use the design on my island and backsplash. I also am doing my two bathroom vanities so those were always coming into my stone choice too ...what would the Brittanica, Oakleigh or Inverness look like in the bathrooms too. It was further frustrating my decision and I didnt want plain white. In the end I decided Brittanica island and backsplash. Whitecliff on perimter and busier remnant Cambria's on my vanities. Savings of about $3.5k from not doing all counters the Brittanica (or Oakleigh). But your kitchen has me thinking I should go for gold :-) Love Love Love how it looks in your space....See MoreDoes Cambria require you to purchase the whole slab on every design?
Comments (12)@Joseph Corlett, LLC It is very confusing, because she did say that it was the policy for some designs, but wouldn't tell me which designs. The problem is that I am in a rural area, and this company seems to do all the fabrication and installment of Cambria in this area. All the cabinet makers, interior designers, and I was told that even Home Depot farms out their Cambria orders to this company (not sure if that is true). I tried going directly to the company so that I could budget accordingly, and they basically acted like if I had to ask I couldn't afford it. My guess is that it is their company policy for slabs in the luxury line, as there probably isn't a huge market for them here, and they don't want to be stuck with half a slab that they can't use. Possibly? My issue is I am wanting to use one of the luxury designs, and by my estimation, I will need 2-1/4 slabs, but the other 3/4 slab isn't enough to use where I would want to use it- and paying a luxury price just to use up a luxury slab in a hidden area such as a pantry isn't a good use of funds, imo. I would choose something else, but how can I without knowing which ones require me to buy 3 slabs?...See Moreempireranch
