My friend has a dark washed green almost teal color on his cabinets. They look awesome with his saltillo. I'll try to get a photo. The gentleman that is installing the saltillo has discussed the the grout options etc. We are doing the old fashioned grout that has been done for hundreds of years - he said this will make it easier to replace or repair any tiles if ever needed. We feel very good about his work -- Saltillo is all he does. Do you think I could pull off some navy accents with the saltillo and Turquoise? The talavera I am leaning towards has navy, red and tan in it.

So you are not talking about the faces having two colors, right? You are planning to leave the outsides natural and stain the insides darker? No reason you can't do that, but it may make the insides seem smaller, like a dark cave. But it would look fine, if that's what you want to do. Sorry...no pictures for you. My cabinets are the opposite....stained dark outside and left natural with clear poly inside. Most cabinets are lighter inside than they are outside, for some reason.

Nice, and what a deal! What type of counter surface will it have? That may affect your choice. My small master bath combines white, gray, and cream elements. I like that I can dress it up with colorful towels. The fixtures are white, the tile is white and gray, and the walls are a warmish creamy vanilla. It doesn't sound like it would work, but it does. It was painted by the previous owners for sale, but I haven't found any reason to change it. It's a small space, so I think I find the neutrality restful.

HU, no, a deglosser is not enough. lol. it's a ton of work to properly paint cabs. Have you ever painted? or sanded or primed anything? all doors have to be removed (and properly marked so they go back in the same place) I've painted cabs 3 diff times, and I'll never do it again.
