what color carpet w/Saltillo tile?
Comments (5)The grout is a dark, dark grey. We will paint the walls & baseboards so we are wide open with color scheme. Our furniture is more on the dark walnut or mahogany side. I found Behr "light incense" paint which I really like and looks good with the tile (although the online version looks nothing like the paint sample), cream color for the baseboards. We are leaning toward a desaturated "french cream" slightly patterned berber carpet. It's not too yellow and has enough magenta in it to give a warmer feeling to pick up from the tile. We are in AZ and a lot of people here do the saturated western colors. Personnaly, I like having walls more of an accent to my furnishings....See MoreHow can I tell if my tile is saltillo tile or a faux?
Comments (6)Here's some additional photos my husband took today. The issue is the accent pieces which I really don't like but also the staining... and finally that the tiles have been installed such that a door doesn't open. I'm hoping there are solutions to those issues if we decide to keep them. Any suggestions would be great! Thank you!...See MoreSaltillo tile living room- what color rug?
Comments (2)let me try several suggestions.. (I didn't look into function-went just with overall vibe-but function is very important. low traffic, high traffic, easiness of maintenance, how flat and light vs heavy it is, numerous other things..budget of course is important too) 1some soft texture plus pretty allover pattern. reads as pretty neutral because the pattern is more on a subtle side. combines warm tones and a bit of cooler ones more tribal look-very fitting for a bit rustic nature of saltillo. folks either love it, or they don't. brings in more texture and softness too. has colors of saltillo in it, plus a bit of red you seem to like. and blue(love your owl)) but there are many many tribal rugs..just an example tribal again-but flatwoven, and more sharp contrast of the pattern. a bit like you have now-stronger geometry..but the look is less contemporary. more traditional, working with saltillo's charater a bit better maybe? still comes off as strong and very self assured. will slide more on saltillo I imagine. unless you use a pad. very neutral, warmer than it seems on the pic. you bring noot so much of color and pattern, but texture. good to have next to sleeker saltillo. again, lots of texture. very cozy feel. cleaning might be a pain I imagine. well that depends on a family..would be a pain for me)) but inviting. my absolute favorite. takes that pink and makes it chic. punchy pattern. born to be a star. luckily (for me because I want it for example) costs an arm and a leg. one needs to fall in love with it and be seriously into florals. all these -are just vague ideas of directions you could take. if there's something that speaks to you but we don't know it-let us know..so we can be more helpful rugs are very personal I mean everybody can find something that will work, but it's a big surface, and I think -one should love his rug..be sure about it and all....See MoreMexican Saltillo tile floor: thinking of going white. How?
Comments (26)Geoff, all white would look terrible. I'm not a fan of saltillo tile in general, but yours compliments the ceiling and gives a nice contrast to everything else. I suggest keeping the flooring as is until you're ready to replace....See Morejterrilynn
