Lighting Kitchens Design Dilemma

Ceiling fan with pendant lights

We are redoing our kitchen. The cabinets will be white and the walls will be gray. I am considering putting two small pendant lights over the island and replacing the current ceiling fan with a bladeless fan/fandelier. It is a very small room and I know I cannot keep the current ceiling fan if we do the pendant lights. I have included a pic of the new fandelier that I am considering. The pendant lights would be a similar style as the design of the fandelier. The space between the island and the kitchen table is only about 4ft.

Would it be too much to have all three fixtures in such a small space?

I would appreciate any opinions/thoughts/suggestions.

Yes, it would be too much hanging from the ceiling. Pick 1 or the other, and use recessed for the other.

No it would not be too much, my question is do you actually use the fan?

When we got our fan (Matthews Fan Company; Vent Bettina), they didn't make one with a "built-in" light, but since then, they have come out with at least one model that does, if you need a fan with lighting. We LOVE our ceiling fan--its form as well as its function! FYI, ours is the chrome finish. Had originally seen it in the chrome finish, and had planned on ordering the brushed nickel until we saw the sample chips. The chrome's color was nicer (in our opinion) and the sparkle of the polished chrome really made the fan "pop" so to speak. :-) Here is a link that might be useful: Vent Bettina Spec Sheet

@Porter, I didn't get the LED Edison bulbs yet-the store where we got the pendants gave me 3 halogen bulbs to see if it was better for me as I didn't like the yellow light at all. I am still going to order them when I do a Prime order to see the difference. That fixture is in a nook--off centered from the pendants--it comes with a chain ;however I am undecided if a table is going to go there or it will stay open, so had it semi-flush mounted. Does it look odd or out of place? @Beth, Right now they are 34" so when the quartz is installed, it should be about 32 33" from counter to bottom of lights. They seem high, but any lower they are going to be in our eyes.

Pot lights in a vaulted ceiling are useless I tell my clients with vaulted ceilings to check out Tech kabel lighting it allows the lighting to be where you need it the heads are moveable so if you change furniture the lighting still works you can add heads if you need them and they are installed at human height. This system is best thought about at the stage of building you are at to make sure all the electrical is in place and if course now do LEDs These pics are just a couple of ideas , visit a really good lighting store where there are knowledgable people you know about this system. I love Ikea for many things but lighting IMO is where you want to buy the best you can for overall lighting then add lamps that are easy to replace.

No fan in a kitchen and if the cost of aelectrician is not in the plan then switch that fan out for a nice 5 head LED track light all 4000K bulbs .

Also dont do gray walls they are on the way out.

We do use the ceiling fan ALL the time so I need some type of fan there. If gray is on the way out, what is the newest neutral color replacing it?

Is the granite staying?

Have you thought about doing a longer island w/table seating?

look at some of these neutrals for the walls.

as for that fan, if you really need a fan, can it be relocated?

what if you tried a sun shade on the slider to help block off some of the heat from the windows? it does help.

a fan over a dining table is never a good look. a fan near a kitchen just blows the grease and grime all around the room.

what If you did a regular light and go a nice floor fan like a dyson or something?

another idea for island/pendants.
