Oh goodness. That reminds me of a friend who moved frequently with her DH's work. Once her children were almost grown the moves were bare bones - she started from scratch each time and these moves were in the same general Chicagoland area, not cross country until much later. Eventually the only things moved were family photos, her jewelry and some clothes - everything else was sold prior to moving. She'd hire someone to 'fill the house', everything from dishes to furniture to towels to TVs. None of it mattered to her, only having a finished space to live in day one and not be bothered with shopping.

That is so weird!

The odd part is it looks like home of a 30-something who gets everything in her life from HomeGoods. Why would there be a sell-every-last-thing estate sale then? It certainly does not look like the typical baby boomer collected over time assortment. I wonder what the back story is. Relocation to someplace far away where it makes no sense to ship it all? Elderly person's residence furnished after a fire or divorce, or a fiery divorce?

Is this a military area? (Although the power bed/recliner don't seem active duty to me...)

It’s probably more of a moving sale than an estate sale. Could be someone’s second home that they didn't use much and decided to get rid of - maybe a divorce or something.

I agree with mtn - an overseas move was the first thing I thought of too. After I fell asleep looking at all that blandy blanderness.

Yes, esp since second homes often convey w furniture. People don't want to use their best stuff in houses that are often empty and often loaned or even rented.

Just doing a quick google search, not much comes up other than that the resort is being further developed. And yet, yes, there are some personal items in the garage. But who uses a measuring wheel like that? Nothing even in the garage looks over 2 years old, just like the rest of the house.

Yes model home and then they threw a few other things in from some other source - the stuff in the garage. But then who has dishes/dinnerware in a model home and it doesn't seem like you'd have to hire this company to sell a bunch of brand new unused furniture.

That kitchen is atrocious. The whole thing reminds me of a 2019 Restoration Hardware catalogue. I haven't seen shabby chic (?) furniture in a long time.

My vote is model home with stuff thrown in.

The estate sales that I have gone to often include items from smaller estates. Or photos of stuff that might draw in customers (Christmas items, its that time of year).

Good sleuthing Olychick. It’s apparently not unusual for estate sale people to throw in pieces from other estates when there is room. Usually it’s similar pieces but in this case i don’t believe it would be easy to find similar items of furniture (hence the colorful chairs and perhaps dishes, etc). My sister-in-law told me there were additional antique pieces added at her mother’s house for the estate sale a few months ago. With her permission of course.

Let us know if you go and find out anything 3katz.

Also, family members can add in their own items. Although, seems like shampoo would be an odd thing to add in.

Unfortunately I can't go up there this weekend though I could really use a new sofa at the lake.
