yes off and on all day, I don't know if they are working on it. It may have to do with the dreadful news of the Heartbleed bug. Many sites will be working to make sure they are patched and not vulnerable. The Heartbleed Bug Heartbleed: Why the Internet's Gaping Security Hole Is So Scary those that use yahoo, twitter, dropbox, tumblr etc. check your info. This is a quote from one of the many articles out right now about heartbleed. "Some of the most popular websites that you may have visited today - like Yahoo, Twitter, Tumblr and Dropbox - have been attacked by a serious bug. The bug lets hackers easily steal personal financial information, passwords, usernames and encryption keys, and plenty of other private information they shouldn't have." "The good news is that the latest version of OpenSSL fixes the problem and websites are already upgrading. Sites like Yahoo, Twitter, Tumblr and Dropbox that were affected this morning are already fixed."

I just gave up...... After having a Gardenweb account since forever, since back when it was an offshoot of the "Parent Soup" channel thing at AOL.back in the mid-late 1990's and was still doing the same thing at the various changes and new corporate whatevers and never had an issue before or after changing my email address to Gmail in April 2004. I finally just entered a new account name at the same exact email address I have maintained since April 2004 and seemingly have either no "old" account or the new account has no conflict with the old. The old just not being able to "sign in". I have been doing this sort of thing since 1990 before even AOL back when "online" was a BBS running off of a hot rod 2400 Baud modem plug in card on an Apple IIE. I have never been one tobe concerned with site appearances, but the Huuzz scheme fonts colors layout everything, is absolutely horrendous. Just my $.02 worth..... YMMV

Thanks for the responses folks - at least I don't feel personally slighted at not being able to read the rest of the pages. Kate, I'm accessing the site by a good old fashioned desktop computer, though mine is an Apple. There is no cache at all on Google Chrome since I only use it for one task at work that has a funky programming that requires Chrome, so there's no history there to clear out. I'm on GW now with Firefox on my desktop computer, and it's still doing the same thing it does on Chrome and Safari. Looks like there's not a simple answer to why some of us are having problems and some are not, since I'm not using anything modern or fancy. I haven't tried to access GW on my phone but the screen is so small I can't fathom any real reading or viewing on the phone for my poor old eyes. Sigh. I was happy that I was able to see and read messages with pictures fine, but only on the first page I guess. I wanted to hurry up and thank everyone for the input before this scrolls to page 2 and I can no longer see it. If anyone from Houzz has an explanation for this I'd be most grateful. There's no point in my trying to start a new post until this resolves for me, since I won't be able to see anything in response unless it's a very recent post. Cynthia

mtn, you don't happen to be using a relatively new Macbook air? I've had this happen a couple of times recently and it resolves when I shut down and restart. I just did it now and I can post photos again.

Sorry no cat photos, but here is the pic of the gratin I was trying to add on the weekend to the other thread :-)

Yes, I was trying to add a photo to one of my threads two days ago and it would not work even though I had previously added photos to that same post. I messed with it for so long, I inadvertently deleted the entire thread....
