Hey Amberleys! You have a really lovely open space, if this was my own home I would move the sofa so that it partitions the dining room and living area, facing the french doors so that you can relax while admiring your garden. You can then place an entertainment unit or large sideboard against the wall where your sofa currently is, you can get some really pretty ones which you can place your CD's into and stereo on top. An old farmhouse display would look lovely - depends all on what kind of style you like. I would then place the playpen in the corner where your stereo is at the moment when not in use and a storage unit for toys against the same wall - Ikea have some really great units for toy storage. they are a pale blue but there are slivers of green stripes on the fabric as well. i have leftover fabric from the upholstery that's on the sides that i want to make into throw pillows, but my dogs always think throw pillows are stuffed toys lol so i have to keep them in the closet until we have guests (the pillows not the dogs! )

I think if I had the luxury of new furniture, I'd do two short sofas facing each other, flanking the fireplace. The one in front of the window shouldn't be up against the wall, so that there's room for curtains to fall and the illusion of maximum space. Get a nice BIG area rug that you like, and a proportional coffee table to go between the sofas -- maybe something glass since the fireplace looks like it's dark and might just feel darker when it's competing with wood. Whatever you pick, focus on size so that there's ample room for people to walk everywhere. It'll feel generous and welcoming. Great bones!

Hi Salonva, thank you! This is my first ever layout I’m planning, so I’m super excited for new thoughts & ideas. Rug dimensions: 5.3’ x 7.3’ Sofa length would be around 6’ to leave at least 6 in. on each side. I might forget the table and just do 2 boho poufs instead.
