My son's family moved to Pasadena. We are all from Chicago.

They just bought a house that has a lot of shrubs and roses. I think most of the shrubs are flowering types but not ones I'm familiar with, from gardening in Chicago.

Is this a good forum to post photos on, and try to ID them? I tried Google lens, but the images it showed me were nothing like my shrub photo.

They want to fill in the gaps where plants have died. Plus underplant the trees, which are all palms.

But ideally, to have a range of bloom times in conjunction with the existing shrubs. There are no perennials, only shrubs and vines trained on a trellis.

Only the roses are blooming now, in October.
