living room/dining room decor ideas?
Comments (3)Before adding art to the walls you might want to finish getting your furniture. It seems that you especially need tables/lamps. Overhead fixtures are the worst for creating harshness and making everything and everyone look bad. Are you adding chairs? Have you considered a more colorful rug? Once these things have been determined it is time to think of art, You should not just go out and buy stuff for the walls, Take it slowly and wait till you see things that you love or have meaning. The decor can be things other than " pictures". It can be plates, baskets, funky objects, wreaths, etc....See MoreHelp with living room decor on large wall
Comments (0)Hi, I need help with this. I’m looking for something to go next to the mirrors or maybe make adjustments to the table decor? It’s off scale I know. I tend to be very symmetrical and my gut says to put sconces on both sides of mirror but any other ideas?! It’s cozy little living room, not very big, that wall is close to the patio door. Thanks so much!...See MoreI need ideas on how to decorate this large wall in my powder room.
Comments (3)I think continuing with the gallery wall would be fantastic, but the pieces look a little wobbly at the moment. I think the problem might be that they are not straight. It might also be that you are trying to put vertical and horizontal pieces together in the same size frame as the horizontal pieces. I think you need some larger pieces in the mix. I use glue dots on the corners to keep the frames straight. The smaller the frame, the more noticeable it will be if they are not straight. If you keep what you currently have, I would rearrange so that the vertical pieces are not all in the same row. @idaclaire has a fabulous gallery wall in her bathroom!...See MoreNeed decorating ideas for living room
Comments (9)I would make the tv wall more of a focal point. Using floating shelves is an inexpensive way to make a statement on the wall. Ikea has several options. You could add books, plants, artwork, collectables ect.. on the shelves to add interest, colour and texture. I'd also add a longer cabinet below the tv - it doesn't need to be floating. I'd remove the pet carrier or integrate it into the cabinetry. I'd paint the TV wall an interesting colour. You could remove the curtains on the door and use a self-adhesive contact paper that looks like etched glass for privacy. I would remove the picture from that wall and add 2 pictures above the couch - one on either side of the window. If it's possible, you may want to swap out the sectional for a smaller couch in the same fabric since it works for your pets. I would reolcate the black chair to another room. Since the space is small, you could add a very narrow sofa table with with power outlets behin the couch so you can add lamps if they are required. Although I love cutrain, shades would probably be a better option in your space. I'd add colour it compliment the colour of the entertainment- with a throw or throw pillows, in the fabric on the shade. I hope you find some of these ideas helpful....See Moretracefloyd
