You gals just have me cracking up reading this! I love the angels/fairies Karen is finding for all of us. Lord knows I sure can use one too since the old woman comes to visit here quite frequently too. She went off and left my garage door open the other day, and then this morning she even left the water running in the sink after brushing her teeth! I just don't know how to deal with her, so hopefully my angel/fairy will help! Nmgirl had me drooling over all those wonderful desserts she can make. Boy, talk about listing your qualifications. How could anyone say no to all that???? So glad you found an angel/fairy for her too. Susie, why do you get to hold the $$$$ and the chocolate too gal? And you thought no one would notice, huh? OK - so I'm new to the PNW and new to GW. I think I've been responding to the messages as I get them but I'm not sure my responses are going anywhere. So...I found a reference to the Battle Ground garden club in the local paper-newspaper so I've got high hopes there, if I can remember to actually attend their meeting. Around here, crazy busy. 15 yards of compo-stuff, rented a sod-cutter, 13-hp tiller (thankyouthankyouthankyou I didn't have to shovel that), hand dug and transplanted a 12' maple (too close to the house), removed a 12' spruce (don't know what kind but way too close to the house). Turned out the spruce was planted in the ground on an impermeable plastic disc, wrapped in some sort of root-binding plastic, and STILL it thrived where it was planted. The blisters from last weekend are starting to heal so we're making plans to get at it again this weekend.

I had just finished posting to this and we had a power surge and lost all of it. So I'll try again. Karen, I'll keep you posted on Joe and the little Spooks. Thanks for your comments on the Ghost. OA, I've always decorated DGD swing set and play house for Christmas. This year I used it for Halloween too since it's easy access to power. Dream, thanks and glad you like Joe. The carving on him is amazing. Jeanne, thanks for all the sweet comments. We live at the bottom of the Mission Mtns. Those are hills in the scarecrow picture and are our view in the back. I'll show you a moutain shot we see from the front in June. They are beautiful most of the year. Lynn, thanks and if you want to come trick or treating now you're very Welcome. Our place is right next to the highway so we always try to light things up pretty well for the Holidays. We've done so much in the past and everyone has grown to expect it so we usually have most of the yard decorated. This year only the front and side. Frou, we generally get up to 150 little gobblins at our home. They have started doing Halloween parties at some of the Club Houses so it has cut back to 100 a couple years. DH grew up here and I came as a 1st grader so we're not stragers and most parents come in with their children just to say "Hi". your sweet comments on this post. Punk

Oh Jen, I got all teary reading your post. I am so grateful your babies are ok! I would definitely say their guardian angel was with them. That is amazing. Thanks for sharing!
