Comments (19)Another option is to buy a stained glass and/or obscured glass design pane to hang in front of your new window. It is a decorative item that can be changed when decorating and tastes change, it does not effect the actual window at all, and it can act as a main decorative element in the room. It lets in more light than shades or curtains and it does not require any adjustment going from day to night. I used one in my kitchen to block the neighbor's view in. Here is a link that might be useful: Another view of stained glass window...See MoreWindow treatments for 2 story great room windows?!
Comments (21)Hey There: My suggestion for your windows are motorized roller shades. I believe you don't have power to the windows, so a lithium battery operating system (the charge lasts 6 to 9 months) with a remote control is a great solution. Minimalistic style to keep the openness of your windows. You will cover only the squared part of the upper windows though - the roller shades will line up with your horizontal bars in the window. The different height in the window give a nice variation in design. The roller shades are only 2 1/4 and not bulky - no casing is required and you can operate them from your smartphone. To charge the roller shades, just plug them in like your tablets and recharge them over nite - done. (no chain though)...See MoreWindow Tinting Film
Comments (0)The back of our house faces west and for a few hours each day it is difficult to use our living room and dining room because of the light coming through the windows. Not only does it get warm but we also get a glare on the TV and light shines in strongly through the windows. We have looked into getting our windows tinted with a solor control window tinting film. However, we are concerned how it will look on the windows plus the warranty on our windows is void if a film is applied. The company we contacted does has a side program where we pay an additional charge to have a similar warranty on the window through their company. Wondered if anyone has had any positive or negative experiences with having a solar film installed. Thank you....See MoreWindow covering suggestions slider/windows great room
Comments (7)On the windows with the blinds, I would put faux roman shades in a pretty fabric. Look on etsy. You could do 1 rod with 1 wide or 3 individual shades on the triple window. Hang the rod about 4-5 inches above the window. I would leave the slider, or you could put a wood cornice over it....See Moreoberon476
