The previous owners of my "new" old home installed a horrible (at least to me) Delta jetted shower system in a newly renovated bathroom. It is the Victorian shower in "Venetian Bronze", with two body spray jets incorporated into the very large, apparently plastic, valve trim plate. It also has a handheld shower (no slide bar), which is inexplicably chrome. The matching "venetian bronze" sink faucet set irks me everytime I use it, as well, as it is extremely lightweight and small (plastic?) I'd like to replace all with good quality oil rubbed bronze fixtures...putting simply a nice largish rainshower head on a long arm in the shower plus a handheld on a slide bar. The thing is, I've no idea what goes on BEHIND the valve trim and shower wall and don't know whether what I'm talking about is a relatively simple, mostly on the surface job or one that will require ripping out a goodly portion of the tile wall. I have only a few spare 12 X 12 tiles. Can anyone shed any light on this? And can anyone suggest a good quality, solid oil rubbed bronze faucet and shower set? I like the looks of the Moen Rothbury in the pics I've seen online, but don't know if they are solid metal or also some sort of plastic casing over metal. Any advice on it, would also be appreciated. Yes! We love our new Hansgrohe Axor Citterio Showerpipe system. We've been using it for about four months, now. There is another version (you can easily see them side-by-side on efaucets site) with a rainshower head, but it is 500-1k more depending on finish. To me, this showerhead feels like a rainshower but I can narrow it down for rinising long hair. Both heads have the "air" technology, which gives plenty of oomph. (Though the flow still isn't nearly as strong as an old-fashioned non-restricted flow head.) It comes with thermostatic and diverter valve included in the guts. (Sorry don't know the terminology!) The handshower is also included, which, for me, is a MUST for rinsing the walls and glass down for weekly cleaning. Costs about $1500 on efaucets, which is where I found the best price.

I am gutting my 30 year old bathroom. I would like to replace the showerhead and tub faucet on the tub. What is the difference in a single hand pressure balanced tub and showerhead and a double balanced showerhead. Other than the kit what else did I have to buy. I bought a new tub and a new drain.

We purchased our home in 2003. The Delta Monitor single hand shower faucet broke inside (the cartridge assembly) and we went to Lowe's and to Home Depot. We called around and even called Delta. I got a very RUDE lady on the phone and said it had broken and flooded my bathroom floor and we had the water turned off. I asked about a lifetime warranty. She asked if I was the original owner and I said no. She said she had the part but I would have to pay the 76.00 for it plus S&H. She was very arogant and I said that people do not stay in a house long and that the lifetime warranty was very misleading. I told her before I purchased it from Delta I would hire a plumber to come to my house and pull out all the Delta faucets (I have 3 1/2 baths) and put in something that was better. She said she was sorry to hear that and in her arrogant voice said goodbye. My husband found the part 35 miles from our home. It was actually cheaper than what the lady at Delta said it would be. Nice product life for something that has a lifetime warranty but last only 9 years. Anybody else have this problem. I will never deal with Delta again.
