In case anybody was wondering, these pieces turned out to be overlays that you attach to the spacers and they are as long as the drawer fronts top to bottom. They are supposed to mimic the rest of the cabinetry for wider spacer situations but they included some for our narrow spacers as well. It was confusing since they didn't finish the tops. In case anyone ever has this question, I thought I would put it out there. p.

Update: I posted elsewhere but it's not showing up. Basically, they redid it and it's still wrong! I'll copy my post here. New construction, but kitchen is completely finished. The frigadaire all fridge all freezer was to be built in with trim kit. They made the hole wrong. Supposed to be 25 1/4" deep MINIMUM. They did 24". The front of the counter is 25 1/4 but they have it flush with the cabinets. Supposed to be 66" wide. They did 67 7/8". Supposed to be 75" or 79". They did 79 1/8". They aren't willing to take out cabinets and redo soffit and such. The width I think can be fixed by taking out fillers and bringing the broom cabinet on the end in. The height isn't off much, maybe can have a filler put in between top of fridge and under cabinets. But what do we do about the depth? How can we make the front look right? They basically said if we come up with an idea on how to fix it and they do it, we are stuck with whatever they do, whether we like the end result or not.

The reason the contract said he did it this way is to allow the cabinet door to open and not hit the wall. Which is kind of what I figured he did. I think there are a number of things he did wrong in that space when it comes to measurements. Too late for all that now. When the doors are on, it isn't as noticeable. Sent the contractor packing, there were numerous things we were not happy about.

That is not peeling. That is bridging of the paint between the floating center panel, and the stiles and rails. They sprayed the coats too heavily during the finish process, and didn't pick out that bridging. Winter shrinks wood, so everything shrank but the coating. Which is why you are getting that bridging cracking and looking so nasty. The cure is to pick out all of that with dental picks, and fold a piece of sand paper and lightly sand the contact area of the panel and frame. Then use an artists brush to lightly prime with BIN, and the topcoat. Depending on what that topcoat was. Never ever caulk joins of floating panels. Indoor air should be between 30%-60%, year round. Your air is too dry. As humidity levels increase from spring to summer, snd the wood swells, your problem will disappear. It will reappear when the weather turns and things dry out. The dry season is the time to address it
