I am suggesting a tall bookshelf where the dresser is now. A bookshelf deep enough So that you can put storage containers on the bottom level for the dog toys. Be sure not to completely block the cold air uptake. Next I am suggesting that you move the dresser that is in that corner over next to the railing with its back to the wall. These are a couple of suggestions for your consideration.

I would not paint that wall - it would chop up the room too much.

The chandelier is all wrong for that space. if you want something a little glam, try a semi flush mount light like this. Get a piece of art for over that chest.

You need a larger media console. the TV should be 2/3 the size of the console. your's is much longer than what it's sitting on.

something like thislonger console would look better, give you more storage. you mount your tv to the wall for a less cluttered look.

you could do a row of bottom cabinets (for lots of storage) paint them, add a butcher block on top, mount your tv to the wall

Try a vertical picture like this, and put the 'word saying' elsewhere.

As you can see, painting the walls an accent color really isn't a solution at this point.
