Yes we really do deserve laundry rooms that make us smile. I called my utility company the other day to ask if I could sew a "cozy" for my electric water heater. The gal put me on hold and when she came back she said they were all chuckling over the idea and I was the first person to ask that. Can't imagine why, because I can't be the only woman alive sick of staring at an ugly water heater. Htnspz, I've been looking and looking for that paper or close to it. I'm still looking. That is what I like doing, taking something that's a bit edgy or different and seeing if I can pull it off. I've made some colossal mistakes that way, but also had a few nice triumphs. If it's any comfort, I can't find the paper either and I sure have tried. If one of us finds the stuff, we should alert the other. Which bedroom pic inspired you? You know the one that got to me was the bed with big orange flowers, orange checked bedskirt, and lots of pale green trim in the room. Never could find that quilt anywhere. That's the whimsical part that made me laugh -- but hey, I'm glad there are people on this earth with all sorts of tastes that are different from mine. I enjoy seeing what they do. Good thoughts about the laundry room. The green in this guest bath will be low; it shouldn't reflect on the guests' skin. I've spent a lot of time on Thibaut's home page. I agree with you they have some great stuff. Sheesh, you're right that hardware needs to go. I'm thinking I'll put up wainscoting (I probably have enough left over paper for the bathroom) and paint that and the vanity green. To those of you who didn't like the paper, thank you for sharing what is so for you. I go out on decorating limbs a bit, but with hopes that I can make it work. Sometimes I can. Sometimes I can't.

Ottertail, Do you love the border and is it something that will add to your enjoyment? I think you home is your castle and it should be decorated for you and your family's enjoyment. Here's my own "It's Out of Style" faux pas: My DH and I recently built and moved into a new home. I used brass for my door hardware (balwin brass), my kitchen hardware and my lamps (vintage stiffel)/lighting (waterford). I love the warmth of brass (not the yellow, shinny, fake stuff) and I love how it fits in with my tradtional decor. Now, I'm sure there are some who would walk in my home and say to themselves (and a few even out loud), "Why did she put out of style brass in her new house?" While others would say, "I love that you went with the brass" and would admire me for going with what I like. My friends like me for who I am and appreciate the fact I beat to my own drum. Bottom line, brass is what was right for me and my family. Add the border! Get on the bandwagon! Start decorating to your own beat! P.S. I used chrome fixtures in my bathrooms:-0 They look perfect with my silver vanity pieces, but that's another story for another post.

It was so nice to come home from a work trip and look at this wide range of designs. They are each so nice in their individual ways. Beverly, your room reminds me of a luxurious hotel. Very elegant. PBH, your bedroom is so sweet and nostalgic. I would be very comfortable in it. Kswl, I am especially in love with your room. Soft green is one of my most favorite colors, and that bedroom is so pretty and feminine without being too sweet/fluffy. Palimpsest, you have such a great eye for traditional fabrics and furniture combined in a fresh way. Each of your bedrooms are both tasteful and interesting. I love the scenic wallpaper. Cawaps, I was so surprised by your first room being pink and floral, although it was very pretty! In my mind, you are much more modern, so I had to laugh when I saw your comment, and second design. Im on board with you Beth. I love the look too. But I think I would do black at the bottom and a gold ceiling. I had a similar look a several years ago. I also love the sink with the black legs. BUT..... It would take a minor miracle for me to get my dh to agree to changing the sink at the moment. He just agreed to painting the awful honey oak kitchen cabinets that he seems to be in love with. Also while I am really drawn to the color black, my kitchen/dining room are black and I am painting my kitchen cabinets black. The powder room seperates the kitchen/dining room and the living room. I dont want everything to look all matchy matchy. But thats silly because I have 3 black walls right now. LOL How do you think it would look if that black and white paper were on all 4 walls, floor to ceiling? I ask that after I have stated several times that I only want to do one wall. OMG my mind changes with the wind. I wonder how that would look with the rest of my decor.
