Not so much food, but certain wines. I lke pinot grigio especially in summertime, but even a glass at an afternoon function gives me weird dreams later. And red wine after 6 does the same. But not rose, which just wakes me up at 2am.

Just thinking about Ponzi scammers can keep me from falling back to sleep at 2am!

I honestly can’t imagine anyone having stranger dreams than mine. It doesn’t seem to matter what I eat or drink.

Some of my friends thinks I eat weird food but even when I eat "normal" food I have bad dreams. I've never noticed if it happened after eating anything in particular.

I have intense dreams sometimes, but rarely are they nightmares, mostly just confusing or frustrating. I have a tendency to eat too much too soon before bed as well.

I've never noticed a dream/food connection. But I do notice that more and more often, my dreams are a re-hash of what I've seen or heard about recently, not much 'original content.' It's like my brain is deciding how to sort and where to store memories.

I can't have starchy food for dinner, or I would have stressful dreams, like taking exams, running, looking for my car or bike, couldn't remember where I parked...... lol

My husband & sister-in-law ate some peanut butter & onion sandwiches years ago and had nightmares! I read about them in a I Love Lucy book.

I sometimes think when I eat dairy before bed I tend to dream more.

My dreams are vivid, also. Most common one is that I need to be somewhere and can't find anything to wear. I go through closets and try odd pieces of clothing on.

And when I dream of traveling, the dreams are very vivid. Once a friend and I were in the French countryside, it was beautiful. We were on bikes or scooters and stopped along a dirt road by some trees. I actually could feel the warm sun and what beautiful colors I saw in the landscape. I've never been to France in real life!

I think I wrote about this here before - but I never really had a problem with bad dreams. Sure I'd get the occasional nightmare, but not every night.

I was having some problems with my allergies and asthma, and nothing was really working. So the doctor suggested Singulair. We talked about the black box warning so I knew what was possible. However I was miserable and nothing was working...

Holy Hannah. The nightmares were unreal. Allegedly they can settle down once your body adjusts to the medication, but I couldn't stand it. Vivid, incredibly disturbing horror shows every night. It really stunk because during the day, the medication was the most effective I've ever had in terms of my breathing. But every night was my own personal hell and I just couldn't handle it. I swear I could feel my brain chemistry changing. Yes I know that's probably not possible, but what I was feeling in my head wasn't normal so I gave up after about 2 weeks of much better breathing but night time terrors.

Ever since that time I still get really weird dreams, unlike anything I had pre-Singulair. It really bothers me. Fortunately they aren't as horrific as they were when I was on the drug, but here it is maybe 3 years later and I'm still getting very weird dreams which border on nightmares almost every night. I'd give anything to go back to not remembering my dreams...

I have read there is self hypnosis to help you with lucid dreaming to control your dreams. I won't link any of them here but there are a million videos to choose from. One friend swore that practicing lucid dreaming worked for her night terrors. She tried everything. This is 10 years ago and she says she is still night terrors free.

I haven’t noticed food affecting my dreams, but when I have to go pee in the night I dream about not being able to find a bathroom. Or maybe I have to go pee BECAUSE I was dreaming about peeing?

Either way, I’m really disgusted when I wake up and have to get up to go to the bathroom.

This happens once every couple of weeks or so.
