Should counter veins all go in same direction on all counters?
Comments (64)Threeapples I haven't done anything yet. Just in the early stages of planning a remodel and only know I want white cabs and a whitish stone that isn't marble.Love it, but too afraid of the etching and staining. The Macabus is looking promising, but not sure I want something that linear. Will check out the crosscut. Never seen Danbury in person; yours looks beautiful. Gigi, what is your stone? Also love that and Shanghai's....See MoreHow brave would you be? Counter top choice.....
Comments (14)I like the busier one, but these are SUCH small samples. If there is one lesson I have learned, and cannot emphasize enough, is that you MUST GO SEE THE SLABS. Really. I know you have seen one of them, although even that marble may be entirely different if you go back to the granite yard and look at another slab of that same marble. You may find a slab of the busier one which isn't so busy over the entire slab, or a slab of the quieter one that may have large veins in it that aren't in the sample. So don't make a choice until you see several slabs of these marbles, and then just choose by which slab you like. BTW, don't forget to bring your cabinet samples and soapstone samples to the granite yard with you....See MorePlease post pictures of your counter-tops

Comments (35)victoria, I love those terra cotta floors. If you want to do a bit more spanish style, then pick something like the talavera tiles or something in the blues or greens for the new backsplash. I'd do a plain white or black countertop if going that route. this is one of my faves. you could do a black or white (or a a cream) quartz countertop with black and white talavera tiles for your splash, and a copper farmhouse sink. since you're in mexico, these would be readily available tiled countertops are also very common w/mexican style kitchen. As are the brightly colored islands or cabinets. I really like this one too. the turquoise and aqua shades compliment the terra cotta color perfectly. (this countertop is actually cement! but it's been polished and sealed in a nice, light gray) you could even do a ceramic tile backsplash in a solid turquoise shade or one of the greens. w/the copper sink. this countertop is recycled glass in a green. (I actually have one in my bathroom)...See MoreBeth H. :
