Annie, you threw a monkey wrench into my plans today. I already had the vines ready to go, but I can't let California Day pass unrecognized. These are scenes from a few of my favorite spots: Near Crescent City which is a coastal town about 20 miles south of the Oregon border: Trinidad which is about 60 miles south of Crescent City: The magnificent Redwoods: Lake Tahoe: Morro Bay in the central part of California: And, way to the south, one of my favorite places, San Diego. Imperial Beach is a small town near San Diego. It's close enough to the border that one can see Tijuana, Mexico from there: My apologies for going over the five picture limit. That's as far as I could narrow it down in my attempt to show some of the best of the state from north to south.

Nicole, I know you love the hummingbirds. Your pictures of them are stunning. I love when you post them!! Lgmd, great picture of the hummingbird's nest and the eggs!!! I have never been able to find a hummingbird's nest. I usually have only two or three who come to my feeder. I don't think we have the natural flowers in numbers that would sustain the hummingbirds in any kind of numbers. A nest built on a windchime? Amazing!! :)
