I can help you with selecting drop in tubs based on shape, size, quality. You basically want a good quality air tub without the price tag. Mirabelle tubs are well designed, deep and I see that folks on this forum have purchased them as air tubs. They are private label for Ferguson (made by Clarke). I like the feel of their acrylic better than Kohler. I don't see folks talking about Kohler air tubs but they make a solid whirlpool and are priced right. I do not know how the Jacuzzi air tubs are but I personally like their designs - they are priced right for you too. Jason, owned by the former Jacuzzi folks, can get pricey. Same with MTI, Hydrosystems, and Americh. Maax tubs are nice but I see on this forum that folks say that their air tubs are loud.

Thank you Lotteryticket. I love the first one and that's actually exactly what I'm wanting. Is that not a slipper tub? The ones I've seen online have been described as slipper tubs. I called the store for that one and it is $5,369.00. Every one that I have found that looks like that seems to be in the 3-5K range, which is much higher than we can pay. The second one isn't really our style. We do want the oval shape, and I want to make sure it has a nice slope on the end so it's comfortable to lay in. I saw the Mozzano by Victoria Albert in a showroom and I really liked it, but it was in the 3K range. It had a 40 degree slope on one end and was really comfortable. I would love recommendations! I'm going crazy and getting more frustrated every day since this is causing our project to come to a complete standstill!

Ooohhh, it's exciting to see all the action here. I had a tile guy come out today and we discussed the logistics of a wet room, including the effect it will have on the tub plumbing (out of the wall instead of up through the floor to minimize leaks). But here are some details: The room is long and narrow, 7 feet wide by almost eleven feet long. Single door at the narrow end, no windows, and it must also house the stackable washer and dryer. I will try to get a plan posted if there is any interest, but it is a pretty basic rectangle. Because the room is small I like the visual of a free standing tub, with placement planned across the far end of the room. Sink and toilet will be on opposite walls in the next section, and the washer and dryer snug in the corner next to the door. Cloudbase, the real reason for the tub is that there is no tub in the master or anywhere on the main floor, and I want a tub I can soak in. Its use as a shower will be limited to house guests. So they will still have a bit of a struggle getting in and out...or I can share my shower, if the guests are old enough or decrepit enough :) Writersblock, I have seen a similar arrangement to that and agree, it is a nice way to combine the two. Unfortunately there just isn't room in this room. If I have to, I can bite the bullet and put a more shower-friendly arrangement across that end of the bathroom. But I have no reason (no real time pressure, and other than the counter top that impales every person who walks in the room there are no immediate structural issues) to not think about all the possible ways to solve the problems of the tiny bathroom. So while the wet room may ultimately not be the way we go I thought I would toss it out there to see what people had done/not done.

Photo not showing, but I think I understand what you are considering. If so, I am doing the same and it shouldn't be a problem to get the vacuum wand back there to get dust and hair. Our isn't installed yet, but it will be at leads 4" from the back wall, with more space at the ends.
