Help with Paint Color for my daughters' room
Comments (10)No pics for me,either, but I have some generic advice based on my own experience in choosing a color for my daughters' room. We went with a light, but bright and tropical, blue that I was worried would be too bright. But, the girls loved the intense color, and there has been a side-benefit of choosing blue that I had not considered--- the ability to accessorize with pink. By far, the most common color for accessories for girls (bedding, knick-knacks, posters, etc.) is pink. So, they have chosen many pink things to decorate with, like a rug, lamps, bedding, bean bag, and it looks lovely with the bright blue. It has made me very glad that we did not decide to paint the room pink (which was my original idea, nixed by my daughter who, at that time, HATED pink!). Accessories in pink would have been way too much in a pink-painted room. And, I really think it would have been more difficult to coordinate different shades of blue or purple for accessories than it has been to match varying shades of pink for the accessories in the room. Good luck!...See MoreHelp with my other daughters room!

Then do the other walls in : Twilight Magenta 2074-30 Benjamin Moore Do lamps (table and standing) and grouping of photo frames in black with lime green mats. Comments (23)This is a great opportunity to work together with her to get a room she will like when she's finished. These days, it's quite easy to find pictures on the internet and let her choose one that she likes, and adapt it to her own room and furniture. But please don't just ask her to "pick colors she likes" and just paint her room that color, with no concrete vision of what it will look like. Saying that it can be repainted isn't really helping her to learn how to do this right. What she can learn here is that (1) wall paint should be the last choice and (2) paint looks a lot different on a whole wall, than a little chip. And making her learn it the hard way, i.e. doing it wrong the first time, is unnecessary. The objective is to help her to get a room that she will like, not something that she may not like with the idea that she will have to live with her choice, or repaint it. That seems mean to me. I don't get the "it's just paint" comments. People have busy lives between work and family commitments, and that's a lot of work in my book. Alternatively, no-one will paint it for free. Shouldn't the objective be to help her make the right choice the first time?...See Morehelp with this wall decor - daughter’s bedroom in
Comments (18)There’s a lot of visual noise with the headboard and blanket - would she be open to using a solid cover comforter to create some separation between them and let the eye rest, then folding her photo blanket at the foot of the bed? Depending on how it’s folded, it looks like a row of photos can be visible at a time, and refolded periodically to feature a different row. I like a “nap blanket” at the foot of the bed anyway so the entire bed doesn’t have to be remade if someone wants a take a quick rest. The walls are a bright, bold color, especially against the backdrop of snow outside. That view should be also be considered as “art”. Drapes can help soften the contrast transition as well as add texture, and complimentary art above the bed can pull that side of the room together. I appreciate your approach to this and hope you and your daughter are enjoying the process together!...See MoreAllison0704
