Help with my other daughters room!

Some of you have recently given me suggestions for my one daughters bedroom http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/decor/msg0709114332690.html Now I am asking for ideas for Her twin sister"s room.

This daughter is the more colorful and bold. The first daughter is more reserved this one is the polar opposite
Here is the bedspread this daughter wanted

I have purchased lime green curtains and a floor rug that tie in with the green in the spread well.
What should I do for the walls? I am thinking pick a purple in the spread and lighten it and put on all the walls would be the most tasteful, But I know she would like crazier maybe two wall colors she is a purple pink loving girl but not the soft colors any longer but the more bold.M other thought was to try and match into the lighter part of the pink in the spread and use that for the walls.

I know a bright yellow would set well with the green but I am trying to stay away from the yellow as that is the color the room is now (In a lighter shade)

So help I need ideas and suggestions, still looking for more input with the other room as well!

Why not ask her what color she wants on the walls? I'd go with one wall in a dark shade and the other three in a lighter tone of the same color.

I think pink and green color combination is the best color combination. But, before painting kid rooms, youÃ¯Â¿Â½re smart to consider the affect kid room colors may have on your child as different colors may have varying psychological and physical on him.

No pics for me,either, but I have some generic advice based on my own experience in choosing a color for my daughters' room. We went with a light, but bright and tropical, blue that I was worried would be too bright. But, the girls loved the intense color, and there has been a side-benefit of choosing blue that I had not considered--- the ability to accessorize with pink. By far, the most common color for accessories for girls (bedding, knick-knacks, posters, etc.) is pink. So, they have chosen many pink things to decorate with, like a rug, lamps, bedding, bean bag, and it looks lovely with the bright blue. It has made me very glad that we did not decide to paint the room pink (which was my original idea, nixed by my daughter who, at that time, HATED pink!). Accessories in pink would have been way too much in a pink-painted room. And, I really think it would have been more difficult to coordinate different shades of blue or purple for accessories than it has been to match varying shades of pink for the accessories in the room. I have a 6yr old DD and her room is painted Old Rose Glaze by Pittsburgh Paints (Lowes) on upper walls with white wainscotting below. And I am getting ready to paint an old desk for her in BM Sweet Caroline. The rest of the room is decorated in pinks,purples and greens.. I will say that the ORG has a slight purple look to it. A canopy would work as long as it’s a twin. I love that look and kind of forgot to explore that option!!! And I agree, tall bureaus aren’t ideal but unfortunately it’s my only choice in this room. There’s only wall space for one horizontal dresser and she will really need the extra storage of the two lingerie chests since her closet is tiny. All of our furniture throughout our home is anchored to the wall (she’s our 3rd kid), so that will be a given. This won’t be her forever room, so trying to make do for the next five or so years until we either move or build an addition. I absolutely adore those drawer pulls 😍 thank you SO much for the recommendation!

The deal both girls made is they wanted to pick the comforters and have me pick the rest to turn it into a room, they just shared some of what they thought would be cool/neat. (Or they were afraid to choose)

They show light gray walls in the picture....I would be tempted to go this route or cream and pick one wall for an accent color...maybe the lime green of your curtains.

Try one wall (the wall behind the headboard) in satin black ....

Then do the other walls in :

Twilight Magenta 2074-30 Benjamin Moore

Do lamps (table and standing) and grouping of photo frames in black with lime green mats. Add a full-length mirror with a black-painted frame.

Add a large bulletin board with black-painted corkboard.

I also thought gray. With all the bold colors, your eyes need a place to rest.
A light gray can coordinate with many other colors down the road.

If you choose silvery gray -- then you could add interest with large squares of colors -- black/magenta/green .... very wild! :)

Some suggestions worth thinking about,
Keep them coming!

Actually I was planning a cork board covered in a bright colored bulap, one ove the bright colors(I did not know which until I new wall colors)

How about a little lesson for your daughters in Internet resources? Upload the image you posted to SW or BM website and try painting different colors.

Take a look at Dior gray or pigeon gray from BM .

Be careful choosing a grey for the walls. My son wanted an elephant colored grey, and once it was on the walls it looks light blue! Bummed out at first, it still looks nice but wish it was more like the walls in the pics above.
