Well, its been over a month and Alice has not posted her pictures, tee hee! Personally, I have fallen in love with the vessel sinks. I saw them for the first time a few years ago in an upscale restaurant (in red). Then, I saw them offered in clear glass which I thought would be hard to keep clean and shiny with no waterspots. But since then I've discovered them in granite and have fallen in love with different colors and veining. My daughter and I have a plan to get one in the bathroom on her level. We are replacing a 4 foot vanity that has some water damage and in other ways is past its prime. I have access to a brand new 4 foot vanity with no top. I'd like to get a piece of granite (and if not granite I'll settle for 6" ceramic tiles) and cut a hole in to partially recess a granite vessel sink. I have found several on eBay that are very affordable.

Good eye MizLizzie! It is the Delta Victoran 754LF in antique pewter. I could have gotten a really good closeout deal at a local store on the 755LF version (with closed top & aerator), but I liked the idea of no aerator and the open top style fit with the look we were going for in that bath--like you were washing your hands in a stream with an old faucet. We are very pleased with how it turned out. One other thing to remember when doing a vessel sink is that you want to standard height (30") vanity so that your total set up (vanity + countertop + sink) = ~36". If you go with the more modern comfort height (36") vanity, the sink will sit too high (~42") making it uncomfortable to wash your hands in. My granite fabricator sells basic undermount porcelain vanity sinks; I even bought my 16-gauge stainless kitchen single-bowl from him. I think these are some trade brand, like Souci? I know they were $75 each - I was frightened by the cost of most rectangular sinks I was finding online! They are gently rounded inside at the corners, rather than having the sharp rectangular lines the more expensive sinks have. But, we were able to use these for every bathroom sink in the house:

I still love the vessel sinks in my master bath. They are made from white china and shaped like the old fashioned bowls people used before indoor plumbing. They don't drain slow at all; I think anyone who's sink drains slowly has a problem that's different than the sink style. I chose my wall mounted faucets, which are bright, shiny crome, as are all my fixtures, to be long enough to overhang the sink the perfect amount, and I have them hung at a good height. I don't know if my sinks meet code or not. They do not have overflows, which is fine with me. My old sink was metal and had rusted out at the overflow drais before we even bought the house. We lived with it like that for 14 years before we did our remodel and never had a problem with the water leaking, so I figured that not having the overflow drains would not be a problem, and it hasn't been. I think my bathroom looks very classic, and classy. I think that if you like the look you should definitely go for it.
