help me get some perspective?

Since my child is trans, I wanted to buy them pink rock climbing shoes. Which means I'd have to buy women's shoes, in a male size. Hard enough on its own.The shoes were deeply discounted. Seemed like a bonus. They're for my child's birthday. They got here and they're scuffed?! Pretty obvious somebody else has owned them. Only it didn't say that on the website, they were being sold as new. So I dislike the misrepresentation and that the birthday present is ugly. But I did find what they wanted and it's not horrible.

What would you think?

I will ask my child what they think when they're here in person, because they're on vacation. Because it's up to them ultimately.
