Wow! I was so impressed with my cubby idea in my soon to be revealed kitchen. Think I'll slink back down to my bsmt lair. You win. Seriously, I am going to send this to my gc and "see if it is not too late to do this" in my kitchen. If he has a heart attack, do I still owe the last payment? I'd love to see the serious pix of your kitchen as well. I am sure I will love those as much as the great big toy! It is a very pretty kitchen from what I could see of the video ;)

I was just in IKEA in Sacramento with my daughter and Granddaughter. We didn't get to stroll as leisurely as I would have liked to since the baby (2 years old) got hungry right when we got to the kitchens. Not that I would have spent a whole lot of time there as I love my kitchen, but we never looked at them at all after we went back to shopping once lunch was finished. I love the modern looking cabinets as they remind me of my Mom's kitchen when I was a little girl (Youngstown metal cabinets in turquoise with stainless appliances) but stained wood that are just like the cabinets shown with the drawer within a drawer. Love that feature! Thanks for taking pictures and sharing Robo!

Steph, I looooove the pull out trash! We went with the two trash can ikea sells with lids and I wasn't sure how I would love the lid, but I do! It keeps the smell away and looks more "clean" when it's opened. We had the pullout for the trash made to look like three drawers too so it would blend in more and we couldn't be more happy with that choice. We fell in love with the stone too! I agree with the touches, when we told my parents it was Ikea (and my dad is super "wood is supreme" kind of guy) they couldn't believe it! Lanne, Thanks! We bought them off of ebay! I am a deal finder and found ones i loved from Houzz and googled for them to get a deal. They are "Fulcrum" in champagne bronze by Atlas Hardware. We found so many deals by finding things we loved and then going on ebay or waiting for an Overstock.com 12% coupon to buy. Overstock doesn't charge for shipping or tax, SUCH a save when you're buying expensive items!

SH tells you that their entry level fronts are about 20% more than the highest end IKEA if that helps any. Of course, that's 20% more than "full price" and not when you can get 15% off, and the Ringhult is pretty pricey... I think that Scherr's is more cost effective (at least they were in my search - when I was considering walnut for my island) So yeah - it would be pretty easy to double the cost of your kitchen if the current cabinet fronts are less than Ringhult
