Flower stalks on basil — uses?

My basil got ahead of me in the hot weather and went to bloom. I am making pesto in my new zippy fast food chopper but I don’t want to include the flower stalks or the stems.

Ideas of a pragmatic way to use them? Maybe dry the flower spikes then pulverize into a powdwer for seasoning?

The stems? I suppose I could freeze and add to soup byt that seems like a lot of work.

Tip for keeping chives plump, green, poretty and not dry: Keep them watered, grown in part shade. Fertilize a bit with balance fertilzer or higher nitrogen fertilizer.

And, by the way, rabbits sure do eat allium. In June they chomp off my chives ;-)
