I like the new dress - think the style is more youthful than the other. I would probably wear it with silver shoes. Because this is a print, I think you need to let the dress speak for itself and go more simple with the accessories. I love the Alexis Bittar earrings for that reason.

I wish the 2nd pair below came in the darker blue shown in the 1st pair. For something more graphic and somewhat funky, though, I like pair #3 below. Picks up the gray in the dress.

I'm on team silver shoes and pearls, as in earrings and bracelet. Pearls reflect a pretty glow and will stand out against the pretty pattern of the dress.

I like the bird of paradise earrings, no necklace. Or pearl earrings and a pearl drop necklace. I would wear a very slightly pink tint shoe or nude.

Very Pretty dress! I vote for no necklace and blush (not nude) shoes. Would you consider a pink tone earring that would show better? The blue or gray may not..

Soooo many dressy sandals have that horizontal strap right across the front of the ankle, which is not a good look for short legs. I’ll find something… but so far (online), not much luck.

The shoes are too light IMHO. I think a higher heel is needed too, if you are comfortable with that.

Theres that tiny waistline again! Shoes do not do that beautiful dress justice IMHO.

I think that pewter would be lovely with that dress, better than silver. I also saw some pink shoes on their website, if you want to give that color a try.

I love the shoes that Oly posted as well. I then saw that the material was suede. The VC sandal ”Razanya” is very nice also.

Love that J Crew style and I looked around for a similar style in a non-suede but kept coming up with $$$$ options. I totally get you don't want an ankle strap, but I was wondering if styles like the Vince Camuto Razanya don't have a similar effect? I would think that keeping the shoe as open as possible would be the most leg-lengthening?

Ruby, true. It is very tricky to find a shoe that’s ”open” and comfy AND secure enough for dancing etc. Oh AND the correct color and heel height.

Love the Razanya sandal, it is pretty and is unique. Think the angle of the straps is more elongating than a staight across strap. Also, think that pewteror silver might work well.

I wore the J Crew shoes that Oly posted in different color for my daughter’s wedding. I was recovering from a badly sprained ankle and they were one of the only heels that I liked and could tolerate, I had some flats ready just in case, but I never needed to change into them. They are a nice classic look. Love the pink.

IMO, the dress needs an open-toe shoe. It looks great on you, except that if you keep up what you're doing over on the healthy thread, you'll need to have it taken in by spring. <high-five!>

Sue, you look fantastic!! This dress is so perfect. I agree that sandals or open toed heels would work best, though I can't articulate why. I like the idea of a pale pink sandal.

Me too! I just don’t really care for delicate shoes in general bc I’m not a delicate gal. I’ve got chunky legs and slightly wide feet plus, I’m not really used to heels so I feel a bit tippy in them.

Sue, the reason I mentioned a pink earring was because I thought the blue or gray might get lost with brown hair. For some reason I think a closed toe shoe looks dressier, but I could be wrong. Just my 2 pennies. worth maybe 1 :)

No, not hard at all. Your nude shoe needs to be the same shade as your nude leg. It’s your skin tone you want to match.

Take back all the other dresses and buy yourself the fancier earrings. I like costume jewelry but big occasions call for the real stuff!

Nothing wrong with a professional spray tan if done with a light hand. I hear you on "delicate shoes." I like the ones you ordered, a lot. Keep looking you have a lot of time. Find some place to try a bunch in person, too.

I don't have experience with spray tans, but I do think your current skin looks so lovely with the colors of the dress. You definitely don't need to change it to pull off this outfit.

Love the dress! Because you're the MOG, I wouldn't wear open toed/foot shoes. Too casual for the MOG. The shoes the model is wearing are sophisticated and elegant.

If the wedding will be like my son's, the spotlight will be on you after the guests are seated. Parents of the groom, then parents of the bride will walk down the aisle & be seated next. And everyone will be looking at your shoes. :)

PS Is that common to randomly mark things down 60%? if you do get them, i'd keep looking to see if the price goes even lower. This is one thing I hate about dept. store jewelry. vs say a Tiffany or Mikimoto or Cartier etc.

Sue, those earrings are beautiful and what a great buy! Are you planning to have the dress shortened at all? It looks like the length just skims the knee on the model, but is a good deal longer on you— although I guess you’ll need to have your shoes picked out before deciding that. I can’t wait to see the final ensemble!

K, I think the dress might look awry because of the way I was ”posing” — it actually comes just below the knee on me (in heels).

I did order the Razanya shoe above (the pinkish pair) but didn’t like them IRL.

I’ve been at our beach place for a while and when I pack up to go home it’s going to be funny to load up my car with several dresses and pairs of shoes to be returned… 🥴
