Comments (6)That light through the windows is always going to mess with whatever you hang up there, and if severe, it could damage it too. What about mounting a floating shelf at the landing with some decor on it as though this was the foyer to the room upstairs? Try art over the piano and a piano light. Put art across form the stairwell so people will focus on it as they enter the room from the stairs. Paint your wall vents the same color as the wall....See MoreHelp with staircase wall decor

Comments (2)"...and now it looks too dull." To me, it doesn't look dull at all. That is certainly a rich, dark color on the wall. I love something we don't see often, like your blue wall. Also, I like a collected, gallery look on walls, but I think in your case it isn't quite working because you have unified the collection (that I can see). Also, some of the items don't have frames (Are they stickers? Painted images directly on the wall?), and are dark in color, so they don't stand out from the wall color. A great way to do a gallery wall is to unify a "theme" such as: All gold and black frames All mirrors All old-timey prints I encourage you to frame everything on the wall, place the items closer together (better to leave wall space AROUND the collection than space them out evenly. I'd place them maybe a 1 1/2" apart. Finally, I can't help but add this even though you didn't ask. When I first saw your post, I thought, I'd decorate those slick-looking stairs with a banister. That looks completely like an unsafe staircase to me, someone is going to slip and fall badly. And one more thing: You need some lighting in that stairwell. The slippery material and lack of anything to grab as one loses their footing is exacerbated by the dim lighting....See MorePlease help me with the living room decor: curtains and wall decor
Comments (6)The rug is the wrong orientation in relation to sectional. Rotate the sectional so the chaise is on the fireplace wall. Or pull the sectional back, center it on the fireplace, and rotate the rug to center on the fireplace. And remove the pieces from in front of the fireplace so the rug can be closer to it. Can you separate the sectional into two pieces facing each other, one under the window and one on the wall -- and rotate the rug down the middle between them. That woud be ideal...you could see more of the rug. And get bold artwork for the long wall that will compliment the bold rug. Go to greatbigcanvas.com ,for a large canvas print..a fun site and reasonable. 60x40 or 48x32. I searched for peach and teal under Abstract and found these: https://www.greatbigcanvas.com/category/abstract-art/?color=382&color=398&shape=1...See Moreeverdebz
