Stone Park USA in Philly area?
Comments (2)Hi Jett, I visited Stone Park on my long countertop search. I think I found out about them from the salesperson I was working with at Stonemasters in Kennett Square (a good place to look too if its not one you've already been to). She directed me to Stone Park because I loved a Sea Pearl Quartzite she had in stock, but it sold out. It is by appointment only, I called the number and the man set up a time for me to meet him there. He arrived at the promised time, opened the huge garage door into the warehouse, and allowed me to browse without bothering me much. They had a very large selection of stones and the most quartzites I had seen anywhere, although I wouldn't say they had a ton. At the time I went, last Summer, they did have Sea Pearl, Calcutta gold quartzite, and another dark green one labled quartzite which was beautiful. They don't have prices labled though and the man wouldn't give me prices, I had to get pricing through the fabricator. This was my only experience in our region dealing with an actual warehouse, though based on GW that seems to be common elsewhere. Unfortunately the price of all the ones I loved there ended up being way out of my price range, Stonemasters was going to charge significantly more to fabricate one from there, compared to one they already had in stock in their own warehouse. I wished I had never gone! In the end, I got Silestone and Marble from another place, lol! I changed my mind a million times. Though if price were no issue, I'd have gotten the leathered Sea Pearl that Stone Park had...it was beautiful. I ended up using Suburban Marble and Granite in Warminster and I was happy with my experience there. Imperial off of 95 near the airport had some quartzites too, and their pricing is good. Which places have you already been to?...See MoreGranite fabricator recommendations around greater Philly area?
Comments (12)I'm a Plumbing & Heating contractor, and I saw this thread while looking for alternatives to do granite in our new home. I've hooked up sinks to granite from Colonial Marble - Santoro - Imperial - Addesso - etc from our area. I got a price from Stonemasters (very nice people and very Professional) but I couldn't justify the $1,700.00 price difference between them and Colonial. Colonial offered us more for our money than Stonemasters, and I couldn't ignore that fact while going through the process. I live by the old adage "You get what you pay for"...and if Colonial was that bad, they would even be in the conversation for me. If the gap was much closer, I would of absolutely used Stonemasters to do our granite, but I will absolutely keep them in mind for my next project. I've seen people rip Colonial marble, and they even made a small mistake on my fathers home, but they do nice as work as well. I've even asked my customers what their thoughts were on Colonial marble...and it was overwhelmingly more positive than negative. One of the best Kitchen renovation companies, in the Norristown area that does high end kitchens on the main line, uses Colonial marble, and for me that speaks volumes, cause their reputation is on the line as well. Anyone that goes to the King of Prussia Mall, can go to the food court, and see the yards and yards of granite installed by Colonial. The bottom line is...for our area, ALL of the companies generally do nice work. I've seen most of their work, but the key for any company is standing behind their mistakes. I move in my new home in 2 weeks, then the granite will be installed, so I will be paying attention to the installation from Colonial Marble. If by some chance Colonial does me wrong and does a terrible installation, I will absolutely come back and do a follow up. However, I've seen way too much of their work to think other wise. One thing to keep in mind, and I requested this with Colonial...for template, I want a lazer template, not the old school way of doing things. It was a deal breaker for me, and I have it in my contract with Colonial. I know this thread is almost a year old, but I wanted to give my opinion for those coming behind me looking for reviews....See MoreTotally OT Question about Philly Traffic
Comments (27)Since I'm already in NJ I take the same route as Jerseygirl. Chickadee - you're in one of my favorite areas! When DH and I first married we lived in Philly for 4 years and often escaped on Sundays for a 'ride in the country' - which either meant heading to Lancaster or Bucks County. I tried to email you but when I click on your profile there isn't a 'Message' option in the upper right corner. I have one if you want to email me. How interesting that you had your knees replaced a week apart - that's a new one for me. My brother just had one knee done last week and he'll schedule his other one for this summer. Comments (32)Just to follow up, we ate at both Parc and Dandelion Pub and enjoyed our meals at both! As anyone in the area knows, the weather Sun-Tues this week was not very springlike. Ugh. We went for a cold walk on Sun. afternoon when we arrived, just random wandering until we had stretched our legs enough after our 6 hour drive. Our tour of Temple was cold and windy on Mon. After that we ate at Dandelion and were back in our cozy hotel room by 7 or so. On Tues., we relocated to West Chester and by late afternoon, there were snow flurries! Anyway, we really didn’t end up with much free time after our school tours. At least we had decent weather for our drive home! Thanks for all the ideas, though....See Moresushipup2
