a few pics from this past season
Comments (10)Yes, the last pic has a bush clematis in the foreground. I found that at a garden center and it took a few years to establish itself, but it's a pretty cool little plant. The Great Dane is now going on 5 years old and we have a new garden helper who will turn 3 in mid-January. He is a black English Labrador who wreaks havock on my gardens in winter when I take the fencing down. He runs through them, pees on things, chews on things... I can't wait to put the fencing back as soon as I start to see signs of spring. But the gardens seem to take all the abuse pretty well, so I guess all his abuse isn't too awful. Now when things wake up and start growing again, that's when I am very protective of the plants. I have heard that we will have a mostly mild winter along the PA/MD line so hopefully spring will come early, as long as it's not too wet....See MoreBlooms from the past few weeks
Comments (9)Regal is aptly named. Tuxedo cats are always so good looking, and he is no exception....I like the colors on All Revved Up too. Your 2 pictures of it reminds me again, why bud counts are important. I have a daylily that went through a good 1/2 dozen blooms early this spring before finally settling down and producing what I bought it for. ..........I also like Linda Sierra and Sherry Candy. Nice selection........Maryl...See MoreA few first of the season blooms on Saturday
Comments (6)Bali Watercolor, sun and well shaded by me. Bloom seems extra large this year, it is liking its new spot Mixed Berry Jam was a bonus last year. Smaller flower, I will give it another year to see how it does. It has multiplied well, I know not a good picture here. Diamond Shores was new last spring. Like most i got in the spring, it did not bloom til now. I like it, it is shorter I think than it should be. Supposed to have a pretty high bud count, maybe in a year or 2. I think I have already posted Raspberry Quasar, but I thought it looked quite pretty with a cooler morning....See MoreA few good blooms in a dismal season
Comments (7)Mary Todd doesn't care about the weather conditions at all. It looks like you have a lot of it too! What you have labeled as Cameroons is actually Cameroon Night (Cameroons is one of its parents.). It performed well here this year also. Heavenly Hidden Treasures is attractive. Ciel d'Or is a bright one. I grew it here for many years. I'm sorry your season seems dismal. This is one of the worst daylily seasons here since the early 2000s when we were in a drought for three years. I hope you get rain soon. We had a few minutes of rain tonight, but not much.
