Source for Landscape plugs

I got a bunch of plugs this year and they were great. Far cheaper than nursery plants, easier to plant and they took better. I have some places that are rocky and rooty and hard to plant.

Does anyone have a good source of plugs to non-wholesale customers? I'm in Maine, 5B and so, want plants preferably from Northern sources.

Retail sources for plugs and liners are limited. Most are intended for large scale growers and are wholesale only. Minimum orders could be hefty.

Hi everyone: I am looking for a New England source for lowbush blueberry plants being sold as *plugs*, not as sod or bigger potted plants. Does anyone know of a source in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts or elsewhere for these plugs? I think the smallest quantity that you might get would be 52 plugs, and most of the plug growers that I've seen in the past require at least 3-4 trays on plugs, per time delivered. I haven't purchased any plugs as of yet, so my info may not correct.

Source for Ornamental grass plugs

Bluestem Nursery and Northwest Ornamental Grasses are both large suppliers of a wide array of OG's, both plugs and finished containers. They are west coast-based so shipping and freight will be a factor but they are considered to be two of the largest suppliers with the most diverse offerings in the US. Both are online.

If you work at Prairie Moon, I'd recommend adding trillium and tiarella plugs.

No, actually, I don't work there, my screen name is just a coincidence. [g] But I will have to check out those plugs. I've not had good luck with Tiarella, but I'd like to try trillium. Thanks.

Trillium are extremely difficult to cultivate, and germination is variable, and occurs over several years, if at all. So, it would be hard for a retail organization to reliably produce plugs, which are usually marketed in large flats of the same species. Unfortunately, at least in the past, many trillium plants that are sold have been dug illegally from wild sources.
