These look so nice but would like to see some northeast coastal gardens and ways these gardeners live with nor'easters every year that wreck gardens (and homes!)

The front of our zero lot line home is 11 feet from the sidewalk and 36 feet wide -- we have a mid-century modern with strong angled roof lines coming to point about 24 feet from one side which is the area we planted a line of 3 Crepe Myrtle trees … we removed the grass and filled with mulch. The other side has an architectural feature circle in the brick work that we wanted highlighted. Our HOA was so angry with us that we didn't discuss what we were going to do (which is not a requirement) that they rewrote 30 year old deed restrictions to prevent any home in the 37 home subdivision from having mulch in their yards!
We are replacing with mulch with stepping stones and pea gravel to match our aggregate driveway and entrance!
