Thanks, Holiday-ers! Gosh,. Tksgvg is just 2 wks from today! Can't believe how fast Fall is leaving me behind! LOL! I am fortunate that all our family plans on coming home (weather permitting). PM...that stacked cups & 3 sizes of plates is really, really elegant-looking...love it w/those added faux flowers...this would be a fun project w/mixed pretty old dishes picked up at garage sales or something! TFS! milo, jane & janet...glad you love that squirrel...I'm glad I bought it even tho I pd full price...so I will keep using it quite a bit. punk...that leafy plate & leafy bowl that match also has a big cup with it...it was a GS find a few yrs ago & I was hoping I'd come across more of that pattern (a couple yrs ago I didn't have as many dishes! ;-) Stamped on the back w/"Home Trends." I'm no pro and find hanging art & accessorizing are challenges! At first glance my first thought was to hang your beautiful art lower, and off to one side, then balance it on the other side with something on the buffet that doesn't fight with it visually but balances it. Maybe one lamp. I think the fact that it's centered makes it appear smaller and accentuates it's lack of size. I don't think I'd kept it centered & flank it with two lamps. The art will fight to be the star.

But first, can you share a few more pics and a simple sketch with the dimensions of the room? That will get you all sorts of specific advice. Right now, consider the design choices that made you like those two pics... I love the chairs in the Promised Land Farm pic and the way the light painted frames make the whole room less heavy. Don't know where you are, but vintage dining room "sets" are really inexpensive in most places. And dining chairs, well they don't use that much fabric and are sometimes easy to re-up yourself. My advice is first to determine the size and shape you need & allow yourself to consider lots of options. I would avoid any sort of Queen Anne leg ;-)

I’d raise the art, if possible (I don’t know what the entire wall looks like). I really like your tray — it’s pretty and is a nice, personal touch. Just an example of how I’d edit it — excuse the awful mock-up. :) Lamps, tray, raised art ... and I’d bring the lamps forward and closer to the tray just a bit.
