Help with buffet decor pls
Comments (3)Excellent thoughts above -- yes -- paint the lamps and add black shades. Consider finding a matching large blue glass bowl for your table. Place your candlesticks with the blue glass lampshades on each side of the new bowl. The bowl can be left empty or fill it with white stones or glass stones from a hobby-type shop. Keep the top of the buffet very simple -- look for a shorter blue vase to add to the other two pretty glass vases. Then stop ... and leave the rest of the space open....See Morehelp me decorate my buffet!
Comments (4)Nice. I would hang the sign but not too high. For the top of the buffet, I would keep the wooden house thing, put the two candles on the other side and that is all. If you have a low bowl, you could put it in the center....I always thought an uneven number of things looks best....3 or 5. Nice bufffet....See MoreWall space above built-in buffet - Decor ideas
Comments (32)No matter your decision, I do think you could add a little more interest to the room, bring in some color and activity. It feels very "safe" and predictable to me. But I've got a mean streak of quirk, I'd be hanging a vintage ten-speed or a bunch of random clocks in that wall....See MoreDidn't realize my buffet was cherry wood-how do I decorate??
Comments (9)"Do you think I could get a dining table that goes with the cherry wood but is maybe lighter? " Absolutely. But first, can you share a few more pics and a simple sketch with the dimensions of the room? That will get you all sorts of specific advice. Right now, consider the design choices that made you like those two pics... I love the chairs in the Promised Land Farm pic and the way the light painted frames make the whole room less heavy. Don't know where you are, but vintage dining room "sets" are really inexpensive in most places. And dining chairs, well they don't use that much fabric and are sometimes easy to re-up yourself. My advice is first to determine the size and shape you need & allow yourself to consider lots of options. I would avoid any sort of Queen Anne leg ;-)...See MoreMiranda Wick
