How to handle wall decor in this space (pic)
Comments (17)Another vote to try the buffet under the window -- it appears to be the "natural" spot for it -- and it won't block too much light. OR: Leave it on the right hand side -- and do hang your larger artwork beind the table -- and then hang two or three (depending on size) smaller matching or co-ordinating artworks vertically over the buffet. You may have to hang the smaller ones FIRST -- and then stand back and judge where to place the larger artwork so that it connects to the table AND the newer artworks. Another idea would be to add two or three dark shelves (look for substantial chunky ones!!) over the buffet -- and add plates (matching ones or co-ordinating ones) THEN hang your larger artwork -- and both areas would work! Comments (1)Anyone have inspiration on how to decorate the wall area above the ledge. This is the staircase going to our basement and you go down a few stairs and there is a decent sized landing with a wall that needs help!!. Want something to incorporate some kids artwork (,that can easily be changed) but doesn't only have to be a kids artwork wall. Don't want it to look too little kidish either. Would love to see what others have done!!Will add picture in comments of my space!...See MoreDecorating ideas above TV?
Comments (4)No decorating there. It would be helpful to see the rest of the room, rather than just that one corner. So, just from that one photo you posted, I would hang the TV on that wall. Perhaps get a TV that is a bit larger (they have become very affordable in the larger sizes), and hang it on the wall. You can first put blue painters tape on that wall to see what size looks good. I recommend a wall mount bracket by Peerless. Peerless makes good ones, and even articulating ones if you need that....See MoreHow best to fill the space above cabinets with decor?
Comments (30)"No one has mentioned so far that the dust that shows up above kitchen cabinets is GREASY dust. Super yucky, and hard to get off." Gas stoves are the worst for this...but my experience was it only appeared directly above the stove. For sure the type of hood/ventilation one has would make a huge difference. I just packed #1DDs kitchen for a move to a new home. The open shelving above the stove top was GROSS along with everything on it. No where else. My crystal, described earlier in this thread, was never greasy. Here in our 'forever' home I have a soffit that holds a set of God Bless America plates. They get cleaned once a year and the only ones with any grease are directly above the electric stove top, and it's not a big deal. Dawn soap is your friend!!...See MoreRelated Professionals
