Quilting a pattern on the plain and printed blocks and treating the oriental panel differently sounds good to me. I would not tie it though. Even that would be a bit distracting. Here are a few smaller panels I quilted in different ways. I either did echo quilting or--when there were many different pictorial elements in the panel--quilted around the main parts of the picture to make them stand out. Some echo quilting I did around a picture: For this one, I machine-stitched around the outline of the bird and plant, but just did some straight lines to hold down the rest of the square. This one, a printed panel, has hand-quilting around the outline of each main element of the picture--leaves, squirrels, their heads, etc. Too bad the quilting doesn't show up well. I used different colors of thread so that the stitching would blend in with the picture.

There are several options for mounting. I didn't want to see the the hardware and since our panels are fixed we went with a track mount. I don't remember the brand we used but it resembles the one in the link below which is for a shower curtain. If you google 'ceiling mounted drapes' you'll see other installations. Light box with a couple florescent tubes on each side running vertical with the front of the tubes obscured by the 'frame'. Paint the back of the box the whitest flat white you can find. A daylight color tube often looks best, but you may want to try other CRI tubes depending on the colors in the glass panel. A daylight and a couple incandescent bulbs will make a very accurate 'daylight'.' This combination was used for many years to judge color balance in photography.

It depends on the fridge you select, how the panel is attached and whether the pull/knob is actually used to open the door. I have a U-Line Echelon model. The front panel essentially slides into frame and replaces the original panel. There is a handle that runs across the top of the door, and that's what you use to open the door. So a small knob would work for this fridge since it's only decorative. If you have a full overlay panel, the arrangement might be a bit different. If the pull/knob is used to open the door, then you may want something more substantial. Then again, you may not need anything more than an knob regardless. Don't forget that the beverage fridge is much smaller than your regular fridge. Thus, the force required to break the seal to open the door is much smaller. You may want to ask your KD why only a knob is required. Alternately, you can download installation manuals, etc., from the manufacturer's website and check their recommendations. FWIW, I do have big honkin' appliance pulls on the bar fridge, icemaker and two base cabinets in the bar because I wanted them to match the pull on the wine captain. The choice was based on style rather than necessity.
