Baker Archetype Bedroom Suite
Comments (8)I agree with the previous poster. eBay is the way to go for this type of furniture. I've bought some Baker pieces myself on eBay and I've noticed that Baker tends to sell well. In the past, I've used what they call "blanket wrap" shippers who specialize in moving antique furniture. I've had good luck with AC Delivers (www.acdelivers.com) but there are many others as well. They usually charge a minimum fee of $250-$300 regardless of size. If you decide to try selling on eBay, list in the Antiques furniture section as well as Home & Garden. Even if your item isn't antique, the high end brands tend to get more attention from buyers in that category. Definitely, include that the buyer has to arrange for shipping themselves. If you don't feel comfortable selling on eBay, there are a lot of store front services now that will take care of the transaction for you for a certain fee or percentage. Comments (29)I know you will hate me for this, but please understand my view point. I am an old house LOVER! I also spent twenty years as a banker trying to talk people into understanding that their future home purchase had to be about love....and practicality. When you are in love with a house you think that the fact that it slapped around the last owners was likely because they were bad owners...they probably deserved it because they didn't do the maintenance you would do to keep it in check. You justify the little issues like the third eye as something minor instead of realizing that a third eye is not actually a normal thing and will require some seriously expensive custom lenses. You turn a wet basement into a couple puddles.... Ten years,..no lets make it five if you get the house....if you find that my pessimistic attitude was totally incorrect and your home turned out to be perfect beyond compare...please tell me I am wrong so I can learn a lesson. But if on the other hand my gazillion years of trying to make people understand that they should buy a home they love....but should equally involve their brains and heart in the equation turns out to make some sense in your potential chris brown like situation.....well be sure to share that valuable experience as well so that others can learn from you...and make light of your experience because "that will never happen to them". I tried to buy the egg and I farm as a young wife ohhhhh so many years ago thinking that a house with walls falling down and a tree growing in the living room just needed our tender and inexperienced care to bring it back.....the bank laughed...thank god!...See MoreHow important is en-suite bath in master bedroom?
Comments (32)Some people really want/need an en-suite bathroom. Some people would like one, but can live without it if everything else--location, price, other amenities--fits their needs. Some people really don't care either way. And some people really don't want one. So if you buy this condo, you have eliminated the "really want/need" folks from your potential buyers and renters. But you still have a fairly large pool of potential renters and buyers to draw from. If you add the shower to the downstairs bathroom, I think you will make the condo attractive to non-related renters--three grad students, say. Do other units in the building have en-suite bathrooms? If so, then not having one could be a liability. But if there are other units without one, and the building itself is a desirable place to live, then you should be fine. You might have to lower your asking price to draw people in, but that would be the main drawback that I can see....See MoreNeed help styling primary bedroom
Comments (49)I haven't read through the thread but, a simple change is to switch the blue chair with the white chair. The blue chair in the sitting area will create a visual connection to your dark blue bedding in the main room, making the room(s) overall more cohesive with each other. Similarly, you have all dark furniture in your main bedroom and only white furniture in the sitting room. This is also contributing to the lack of cohesion you're sensing. Try putting some dark wood furniture in the sitting room and white wood furniture in the main area. Creating a balance of dark wood and white wood furniture in both rooms will help immensely with your design....See Moresconset123
