Pant rant
Comments (40)Pant Rant Part Two: Ok, so yesterday I wear my NEW, snazzy, bought at Macy's "Charter Club" black jeans. They have some spandex in them and look pretty good--I got some compliments on how "stylish" I looked, (which I'm sure for some of my friends and colleagues was a shocker). BUTT, the first thing I notice is the waist dips down in the back. Just low enough for someone to catch a glimpse of the tops of my underwear, or, as one of my colleagues said when I mentioned my annoyance in the faculty lounge, "That's to display your tattoo." Ya know I would like to regulate for myself who gets to see my underwear, and if I'm going to show someone my underwear they at least have to buy me dinner first! Then, all throughout the day when I washed my hands I was noticing how dirty the rinse water looked. "Boy my office must be might dusty" I thought. Well, this morning when I'm taking a shower I notice that my thighs are also kinda grey looking. Seems my 36 dollar pants musta had their dye spray painted on or some such thing, because it is rubbing off on everything. Even today when I spilled some water on my pants and went to dry it off with a paper towel, it turned grey. And I haven't even washed them yet! Who knows how they will turn out in the wash. If they fade out I am taking them back! G-d knows what substance they used to dye them with back in China too!! I can't win for loosing....See MoreWhite stains appearing on my black pants after a week in a closet
Comments (323)I'm glad I found this forum. This is literally the only thing I found that directly addresses this problem. I knew I couldn't be the only one. Since I switched to using shea body butters, I've been having this issue. After some research, I think I found a solution that has been working so far: Tide Hygienic Clean Heavy 10x Duty Liquid Laundry Detergent & Nature's Miracle Laundry Boost. I chose these two based on reviews that stated how well they work on oil stains. So, I put my clothes on the soak cycle in the washer (using these two products) and let it sit for most of the day (about 6-8 hours) in hot water. Then I wash on the longest cycle in hot water. So far, I have not been getting the white residue after several days like before. I also tried this method with Oxiclean (swapped it for the Nature's Miracle), and it worked pretty well too. A couple of shirts had a small dusting of white residue after a few days that I could easily brush off. Also, I make sure to loosely load my washer; I use around a medium load for a large wash cycle. I'm going to experiment with warm water to see if I can save some energy and help decrease the fading over time. And possibly see if it works without soaking....See MoreMy cat and peeing on pants.
Comments (12)most likely that is your problem. cats are highly territorial. they also have a social system very similiar to wolves. she may be showing you who is boss. and by peeing on your pants she is saying get your stuff away from my area. or for some odd reason she might just like to pee on pants. it could be a million different things. since it's not that often, i wouldn't worry too much about it. if she does start peeing in other places and rooms, and more frequently i would consider medication. consider yourself lucky, i see people bring their cats in because they pee on there bed 2-3 times a day. cats are just quirky little animals, i have two and i still think half the stuff they do is crazy. i would try and pay attention to things that have happened around the times she does it. did you have strange visitors, did you change her diet or maybe give her a nibble of human food or milk? if you have people she sees all the time, did they treat her in a way she didn't like. it could also be her trying to tell you something. good luck....See MorePants for pears!
Comments (35)Annie - please, you are too young for pull-on crinkle pants. Seriously. I just bought my 98 year old grandmother a few pair. I rarely wear jeans in the summer, other than a pair or two. Lighter weight, shorter, etc. I did buy a new pair recently - the cropped length that you can turn up. Jeans are too hot for me this time of year. I love capris - has to be a certain length - not too short but LOVE cropped pants. Mostly like a straight cut - not tight but fitted through seat/hips/thighs. Love linen pants, light weight cottons, rayon - but rayon is harder to find. I wore a pair of flowy ankle ants this weekend to a wedding with outside reception. The legs got wider towards the bottom of the leg so they were still somewhat fitted at top. Wore a dressy top and fab necklace and high wedges - got several compliments. I think even short people (I'm 5'2) can wear capris/cropped, etc. but you have to find the length that is flattering for you. And the width of leg. That might mean alot of trying on - which I hate. LOL...See MoreKathsgrdn
