Kathsgrdn - I've been wearing those LL Bean Perfect Fit Pants for years. I buy several pairs in black each year, and rotate the older ones to wear running errands/gardening. But they're a tad too warm in June, July & August.

If you want the jean look, but something that offers more comfort these fit the bill.

Very comfortable. Great ease of movement. Stretch fabric but they look tailored. No zip. Flat front. Pull up but don’t look it. They definitely do not look like old lady trousers. The fit is excellent with no gathering at the waist.

Another LL Bean Perfect Fit Pants aficionado here. The black in particular dress up (or down) very nicely, don't wrinkle badly so tend to look nice throughout the day, and they're comfortable as pajamas.

I actually like the slim fit ones a little better as they don't have pockets and just seem to lay nicer. As I age, I'm spreading and am close to no longer being able to pull off the slim fit without a tunic length top...but I'm sharing in case others of you are fitter than me. :)

Bought these last week at Costco. Super comfortable, but they were so long I had to hem them 2 1/2 inches. I'm 5'7". Never had to do that before.

You might want to reconsider denim, Lars. Not positive about men's jeans, but I'm hard pressed to find any women's jeans that aren't stretch denim. Even when I search for 100% cotton jeans on websites, there will be stretch denim along with the scant 100% cotton offerings.

After jeans, my fave pants are cargo pants - I like having all those extra pockets - esp. for my phone 😃

The thing about the stretch in jeans, though, is that they fall off you after wearing them a couple of hours. It's so annoying. I wore a pair to work in the garden yesterday and they were falling off front and sagging in the rear.

I like that the L.L. Bean pants don't sag in weird places, like most non-jean pants I try on.

Oh don't I know it! I hate wearing belts, but I have to with some of my stretch pants - not all jeans either. I'm always on the lookout for lightweight, looser cotton pants for work in the hot weather. All cotton workwear seems scarce nowadays, and when shopping online, I can't discern the weight of fabrics.

The Costco jeans don't bag out, but they do require a belt -- at least for me they do.

I have a lot of old jeans which I haven't worn in years. I find denim uncomfortable, and I mostly live in yoga pants. My only problem is, no pockets.

ICYMI, some genius came up with side pockets on leggings and you can find them almost everywhere now...

those first pants are to baggy in the waist, not a attractive look to me. I am finding jeans too hot to wear in this heat. I just bought some thin cargo type that are just below the knee and they are working out fine for me. I found them at Bealls for $13.99 They have a knit type waist band with a drawstring.

I gave up wearing belts after I let the Air Force, lol. Kinda like hats.

I love LL Bean pants as well. I prefer the slim fit because I have very narrow hips and thin legs. Wish the rest of me matched.

I like the LL Bean pants also but they don't have pockets and I sent them back. I have to have a pocket for my phone. I don't always have my purse and like to keep my phone on me because I don't have a landline.

I wish they would make them with pockets.

Yes, the photo of the LLB pants actually shows the woman with her hand in the pocket. Just side pockets though, not sure if they are big enough for a phone?

Kath, I just looked. I ordered the slim straight leg which doesn't have pockets. They have one which is fleece lined with pockets but is too hot for Florida.

I always order straight leg or slim because my legs are thin and regular fits are just too wide in the thighs. I have one pair I kept but I rarely wear them because the leg is just too wide.

I have issues buying pants because I'm thin and have gotten shorter as I've aged so now order only petite and straight leg or slim.

I didn't make the Charlie Brown connection at first - but I can make myself a shirt like that fairly easily, and I have the fabrics to do it. I think that is a good idea. In the 1980s, I made a lot of Lycra shirts that had geometric color blocking patterns in them, including one that had a lightning bolt.
