New Michigan Hosta Bed - Part 2 - Warning 18 photos included
Comments (6)McTavish, I brought somewhere around 50-60 hostas with me, I believe. Only one duplicate in the bunch. The minis aren't planted yet, but everything else is. I brought them all with me from the previous home, but these were ones I'd bought last fall, and had never been out of the pots yet. I DO see the owl's head in the first shovel pic, but didn't notice it until you pointed it out. It really DOES look like an owl! I love unique things in the garden too. Can't wait to see your fairies... even if your husband did look at you like you were nuts :-) upnort, about the slugs.... I'm not worried about them hiding under rocks because I have so much mulch that I'm going to have a million of them anyway! The only luck I've had with keeping them under control is to use Sluggo every few weeks. It's awfully expensive but it works. And this yard is so small that it won't be nearly as pricy as in the old place! I figure the pluses of mulch outweigh the negative of the slugs. It keeps the weeds down and keeps the moisture in, plus I like the way it looks. And I absolutely LOVE the Rocks! Try Sluggo if you can afford to. It's great....See MoreA big rain storm and more rain. More flowers and happy hostas
Comments (4)I like Wheee! - if I see one I may have to add it. I like your basket of kittens too. I always see some many cute little things in pictures posted here but never when I'm out shopping. It's probably a good thing, yet another addiction I'd have to come to terms with eventually. ;)...See Morespring begins - part 2 April showers and more....
Comments (23)Oh boy, Do I have pics lol.... I just went out there to capture everything for this month, so I can compare it next year :) Central Indiana zone 5 ( excuse the weeds ) Last week I bought some tulips, a mix of yellows and reds but the red ones seems to be a bit late in the game.. loving them! Limelight Panicle Hydrangea waking up I got 2 of these blomerang reblooming lilac last fall on the clearance table, they looked like they were not going to make it but look at them now... gorgeous girls! This little one Full Moon Coreopsis likes to take over this whole area, so this year I have to find some sorta small fence to keep her up Baptisia Decadence lemon meringue... is taking her time. Elegans Plantain Lily Hosta, she is gonna be a big pretty one! she got hurt by one of the neighbor kids, as you can see one of the leaves.... that kid is not invited anymore. I just put this Renaissance Spirea on the ground 4 days ago, I did not want to trim it because I wanted to see her bloom... She is so cool! I can't remember this one's name but she trippled her size from last year lol...See MoreHostas down south April 2022 part 2
Comments (7)Your hostas and others are beautiful! If Fire Island is shrinking, perhaps digging it up to see if it’s got tree roots bound in its roots. I occasionally have to do this because I have a maple in the front where many are planted. debra...See Moreperen.all Zone 5a Ontario Canada
