What kind of faucet/vanity can I possibly install here? w a pic
Comments (2)Ok, I've measured the distance from #1, #2, #3 to the floor = 37 inches from the drain pipe to the floor = 18 inches All other bathrooms in our house have a regular system with shut off valves located close to the drain plumbing I think they (original owners) wanted to install some kind of horizontal faucet (I don't know how you call those kind of faucets), e.g smth like this (?)...See Morewhat kind of vent do I put here?

Comments (6)Hi, thanks for the advice. To answer the questions, yes, I could move windows,I think. My table is in the sort of empty corner that we have now. Its 5 1/2 by 3feet. I thought about a banquette, but Im not sure how I feel about them. The notation at the bottom of the sketch says baseboard, which is the type of heat we currently have. I have no idea if that has to stay or can get moved around or changed or lessened. As far as the doors, we don't have another door in the dining room, we do have a large set of windows, that we could contemplate changing into french doors, but again, there is heat there, and then my kids would be traveling in and out of the dining room sopping wet. Im not sure if the foyer door could be moved down. we probably need it somewhere on that wall, as it comes in right off the 4 steps to our family room. High traffic!!! Finally, Juliekcmo, you are right on in your assessment with the functional issues. I do use our cook-top as counter (although I would love to replace our electric with gas when we renovate), and I think a range would be our best option as well. I also use my table now as a prep area, especially since its currently right across from the fridge. Thanks!...See MoreWhat type of curtains/blinds/shades can I use here, and here and here?
Comments (10)Wow, that was a harsh response. Does it matter who designed/built this house? Keep in mind this is someone's home and by the few pictures shown I'm betting their dream home. mjammjam since window treatments are quite expensive and should be thought out, I'd go to Lowe's/Home Depot and grab the temporary paper shades for the windows where you need the most privacy. It will buy you some time while you figure this out. I think in your dining room you could still use curtains but the rod would have to be centered in that small strip of wall between moldings. You'd want the curtains hug wide to the sides so that when open they just meet the side moldings so your trim shows. I'm assuming you don't want to cover it up. But certainly you could use decorative Roman shades - that would be lovely, too. Your slider is very tricky and I think any type of shade is going to be problematic from a convenience standpoint. What comes to my mind is a curtain (would have to be hung from the ceiling I believe) that draws to the right over the stationary part of the door. When fully open it will still cover some of that glass but I can't see a way to avoid that. Then something simple with a slim profile hung as an inset mount on the side windows - it appears there is room for something like a cellular. Not sure if silhouettes have a slim enough profile. Same with your LR windows. Not sure what the last picture is about. Think this through - if you don't have furniture yet, whatever you choose for your windows will drive what you do there especially if you choose fabric roman shades or curtains with color and pattern....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
