Comments (22)Robert and I have decided that this is the plan for Monday: Meet at his house at about 10:00 or so. We hope this is a good time, especially for our Northern visitors who are coming such a long way ... believe me, it's worth the trip. You've seen my photos, haven't you? At about noon, everyone will head north to my place for lunch. I know everyone will probably be famished by then. There will be plenty of time to eat, and visit, and walk the gardens ... maybe take in a wine tasting next door, before leaving for home. Plan to bring a dish to share (lunch is pot-luck). I'm borrowing tables and chairs, and I have to figure out approximately how many people to expect. Send me an email if you're coming (even if you've already done so) and I'll give you directions to Robert's house. This is always so much fun. I hope that many of you can come by. I see some Virginia people, stopping in here asking questions ... what are you doing on Monday? We'd love to have you come visit. Connie...See MoreMay Tables, Mother's Day, Memorial Day
Comments (46)sandi, I think my friend got this one on ebay! I did see some at Ben Franklin before Christmas and they had a green one that I wish I would have bought because now they don't have any. :( luvstocraft, I am missing a couple of plates and saucers but otherwise still have most of the set (set of 8) and also the vegetable bowls and the big round platter. And NO chips on any of them! lol! The yellow tablecloth is as old as the dishes and has had lots of wear! kathleen, I didn't know there was such a thing as a olive tray before my friend sent me that one. I think they are so unique!...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Memorial Day May 26-28
Comments (29)LOL!!!!!! I can't tell you how many times I type guilt for quilt and have to correct it!!! Blowing raspberries at Teresa for having working AC lol!!! please show us some pics of your tea wallets - I have started on a purse over a year ago and still haven't finished it. Yep, we are having T-storms and 85% humidity, tomorrow is going to be the worse. We are about like Altamonte, Fl - far enough inland to miss the worse of the storm. We need the rain so much - but the farmers are still harvesting onions. Sometimes in March we have winds that are stronger than I remember the tropical storms in FL. Donna, I remember going to the movies and the mall everyday for a week when we had the hurricanes in a row lol!!! I think being without AC is much easier than totally out of electric. If you have ever watched "Mayberry" you know what Glennville, GA is like lol. One friend moved here when his wife's fam needed help and he told DH it was like moving to a third world country lol!!!! Karlene, I still know people that have, but do not use their AC. NOT ME!!!!!! Rosa...See MoreHow I spent Memorial Day eve....
Comments (9)My sister in Tn. woke up one night feeling something moving next to her body, she felt it and there was fur and she grabbed it and threw it across the room and got up and ran out, slamming the door. Her DH was away on business and she sat up all night and the next night until her got home. Took them all day to find it and "it", a squirrel was in a kitchen cabinet behind the coffee (we refer to him as Mr. Coffee now) Husband put on the gloves with a host of people watching and Mr Coffee got free so all hell broke out hahahaha. Eventually they cornered him behind the couch. The dog Lily was going crazy, to me this was all very funny. DH grabbed him again and took him to the woods across the street, of course we've videoed all this, let him go and the damn critter turned on him and bit him and refused to leave so we all walked away. Half an hour later we're sitting around and we hear Lily barking like mad, DH goes out and theres Mr. Coffee cornered by Lily and he's trying to scratch his way back in the house. The time he went for a looooooooong ride in the car and was released. It took my sister a long time to get rid of the feeling of a squirrel in bed with her. She closes the door at night now. lol...See MoreHoang Ton - Zone 9a
