Help me pick leather sofa color

Ive decided on a Smith Brothers 9000 series sofa It will look similar to the 1st sofa but the back cushions will all be straight.. Here are the 2 leather colors I've narrowed it down to the following 2. These are stock photos so they do look a bit different in person. I worry with #2 if the color variation is extreme that when I get my sofa it looks nothing like my sample did.

1. Is a semi analine full grain that has high color variation and medium surface variation. It sometimes looks brown and sometimes looks grey based on lighting.

2. Is a pigmented full grain that has extreme color and extreme surface variation

BORING there are literally 100s of colors of leather why only those 2 choices ? If you want help here we need to see the space and understand why either of those colors.

My choice is neither and I also question why you are limiting your choices to these colors.

I recently purchased two leather occasional chairs and I wanted blue to complement other furniture and design choices and there were FOUR shades of blue in the specific leather from the manufacturer. I say specific because there are different types of leather and leather manufacturers also differ in the range of colors and shades they offer.

I like the first one - I think the arms go better w/the chairs in your dining room - they have a little swoop/dip in them..I also don't like how high the sides are on the 2nd one. Your rooms look very pretty !

The rolled arm seems more consistent with the things you have now, but the squared arm would seem to lend itself more easily to modern additions you say you would like to try. But it has the nailheads and you say you don't like them -- so do you really want to live with them day in and day out? The nailheads up on the top of the arm is a current and trendy detail. I like it on some pieces, but you could wind up feeling it looks dated where the rolled arm will only risk looking worn or faded over time. It's a classic style. As for color, I like grey, but I would like more color in there, so I would favor the navy for either style. I would shy away from the grey for the rolled arm. Can't put my finger on why, but the idea isn't working for me. If you do grey, would you go for a monochromatic look -- all black, white and grey with a few color accents?

The color of the sofa pictures is the same exact color however I changed the pillows to the fabric attached. The fabric is a grayish color. I need help picking a paint color. The room is going to have carpet likely a light beige or gray.

Too many photos, so I am confused as to what is what. I did go to the Pier1 site and the Lia sofa gets good reviews. I like the style and, IMO, yes, it would fit in with farmhouse style.

The room the sofa will go into is very small and we need new tables/decor as well. We have stained concrete floors that are reddish. I wont be changing the floors for now as we have a senior dog that is blind and deaf and has a lot of accidents. My husband and I have different tastes, so because of that we usually wind up getting boring because its all we can agree on. I've suggested a navy blue and he looks at me like Im crazy.

IMO in a small space dark furniture is always a bad idea. Why not even a light taupe or a nice white cowhide that will stand up to anything. I have white cowhide sofas in my LR with 3 huge dogs and many parties over the last 15 yrs the sofas still look like new . BTW mne rarely have imagination for decor . They love browns and blacks and wood even when it is all wrong.

To address your concern, my understanding is semi-aniline leather does have some pigment added to it. Which is not a bad thing, but if hides are pigmented in batches, hides from the next batch may not look just like the first batch. Just like fabric...you want to see a sample and order from that dye lot. Can you get a sample and order from it?

I have no problem with either one, except the style of it looks cumbersome for a small space.

This is a Smith Brothers sofa and it comes in three sizes. I like the style better for your room because it has sleeker arms and tight back cushions which I value in a small space. Just as comfortable, but not bulky looking.

Think about this color available...it is 11529-4431. I like because it's brighter than your two choices and, guessing at the red of your floors, I definitely like this one better. Ballard Design has this yummy linen wrapped coffee table. Something like it would be a nice change from black or white wood pieces. Brass floor lamps with trays, like this one, also from Ballard, will save space. Paint the walls B.M Palladian Blue.

I am rambling. I am home, down for the count, with long haul covid. Miserable thing. So, your dilemma was just what I needed to have some fun.

1. @JudyG Designs This is a Mayo Leather we had been considering. What do you think of this? My husband refuses to get a tightback sofa.
