Help me pick a sofa (rolled arm ok?)

Hello - My current couch and loveseat need replacing, and I would like to ask all of you about which sofa/chair combo I should choose. I have pictures of them below.

The first contender is 2 cushion sofa and matching chair. They're available in both full-foam or down wrapped foam cushions at $1500 and $1800, respectively. I don't like the tacks and worry that this style will become dated quickly. The salesman says you can't get rid of the tacks so I'd have to live with them.

The 2nd contender is the sectional, but I'd be getting it as a 3-cushion sofa. This one is only available in down wrapped cushions and is on for $1900. I think the arms are a bit dated.

They're both extremely comfortable with a high back and deep seating. Those were the key ingredients for me.

I've attached pictures of my house as well. Obviously, my decor runs a bit classic (? well, at least not modern) however, I *do* like scandanavian modern decor and would like to add some modern pieces in, as budget permits. The harvest table stays though.

So I guess my questions are:

1. Do these sofas work with my current decor? Which one should I pick?

2. Are these sofas dated or tacky in any way? (I'm ok with 'boring')

3. Would I be able to incorporate more modern pieces into my decor? Modern coffee table, side table, secretary, sofa table, for example.

4. Do you have any opinion on down-wrapped foam vs. straight up foam?

4. What fabric should I pick? These are my main TV watching couches, and I've got kids. Currently, kids are not allowed to eat on the couch. Dog isn't allowed on couch either. However, grime will accumulate. The cushion covers CAN be removed on both, so perhaps drycleaning every now and then would work, and I could get a lighter colour? Or should I get a navy? Ahhhh! I just don't know and I spent an embarrassing amount of time at the showroom today trying to pick a colour!

PS: House faces north. Big windows let in a lot of light but very cold light, so greys give me pause.

Fabrics:

Grey or navy?

Linen colour or tealy-grey?

My house:

Thank you!
