need ideas on wall color/shelves/ fireplace/ and trim

I want to paint the shelves, wood trim, walls, and fireplace in my den white. But, my goodness there are so many shades with subtle differences you could go crazy figuring it out. I want a contrast between what will be white of some type now wood trim and the walls.
I also thought a darker or perhaps grey hue color for the back of shelves which will also be white.
I don’t like the colors of the brick fireplace so want to treat the brick and change to some white style, perhaps the German smear technique I have heard about. That look depends on who works on it as I was told they are like artists and create different looks.
Can anyone give me ideas. Please please

Can you post more pictures of the entire room. I just dont see white in that room at all. White seems to stark for the room, and in my mind, I am seeing a cozy warm look with bookshelves, etc. More like a nice warm library look. White would give the room, a cold, uninviting look, and it just doesnt seem to be a good fit, at all. Please leave the fireplace, until you make final decisions, because, right now, it does fit in the room very nicely.

@Patricia Colwell If I don't have a lot of natural lighting in the house and if I have to pick a single wall color, should I go with Silver Satin or Wind's Breath. I can't decide between the two colors.

I think it's fine. I'd prob get some bench cushions made to top the cabinets under the window maybe something with a little pattern. everything in there is solid. or like this one in the corner. see how they did the little cushion, pillows and a throw? i'm not really digging the heavy brown chair, or the storage cube thing under the double window. and the square table isn't cutting it for a coffee table. you need a proper table, a rug, and a large piece of art to hang behind the sofa. and an actual side tale w/a table lamp should go where the white storage containers are. the fireplace area itself is fine, it's the rest of the room that needs a little extra. maybe remove the two chairs for now and move the loveseat under the window. get an area rug and a coffee table. arrange the furniture like this: this room is almost identical to yours (size and window-wise) look at how pretty this is. notice the print ottoman, pillows, window treatments. (and they have an area rug). Notice the two side tables w/lamps. Your room doesn't have any interest. it's all solid, dark colors. take out the storage cubbies and move them elsewhere. get some diff furniture. (the blue sofas are fine) your brown chairs are too bulky for this spot. if you want chairs, get arm chairs, and preferable something light or with a pattern like these blue/white chairs. they work w/the dark blue sofa. cute little end tables too. and a blue rug. this layout shows how to do two sofas facing each other, and two arm chairs, area rug, coffee table. like yours, only without the windows over the bench seating. notice the cushions and pillow. pattered area rug. throw, pillows, COLOR, lamp, pendant light , artwork. or like this. rug, coffee table, side table w/a lamp, some pillows. (ignore the two chairs) again. coffee table, side table w/a table lamp, pillows, sofas across from each other

Creative tile/decor ideas needed for wall mounted fireplace

Installing a wall mounted small gas fireplace in our bedroom. The fireplace is 16" wide by 27" tall and arch shaped. It will be raised about 2 ft off the floor so that we can easily see it from bed. It will be built into a niche in the wall that was created for the potential fireplace during construction. The space is 30" wide and very close to a doorway so I need to keep the "design" within the 30". I'm searching for creative ways to use tile/decorate this area and am not finding anything even close to the ideas in my head. What I am thinking is that the space below the fireplace will be left open and I will put in decorate logs. That I found a pic of! I want to tile around the fireplace with maybe red subway tile with some accent tile included. Tile would then run up the sides of the 30" space to the ceiling, framing this area in sort of a chimney effect. We don't want to use the same red tile all the way up as it might seem too WOW for a space you want rest. My idea was to use chair rail and other trim tiles to create a sort of mantel effect right above the fireplace. There can't be an actual mantel due to being so close to a doorway/walking area. The small area between the fireplace and the ceiling I would stencil a design to be determined. Not sure if any of that makes sense but I would like to see other similar ideas and can't find anything. Almost all fireplace surround pics are just traditional floor fireplaces with just the usual tile and wood trim around. Yes there are modern fireplaces but usually those have the same tile going from floor to ceiling. Any ideas are appreciated!

With the ideas you mentioned, here's what your room can look like...

I would suggest you paint (spray paint) the unfinished ceiling before you get any other work done. You can also install tracklight on the beams as well as pendants where needed (we don't have a picture or the entire room). And, the floor looks like ciment, how are you planning on finishing that with? Nor do we know what style of furniture you're going for...

Was considering doing fireplace something like this picture. White white shelves with the back of shelves a different color. Living in the south was planning 2 fans with or without lights. A recessed light under the front top of shelves next to fireplace. The tv will be above mantle. Recessed lights in room. Wood colored vinyl floors. I’m thinking 2 love seats vertical of fireplace en wall and 2 swivel chairs facing fireplace with a large square table between them. We are cutting out a wall that connects the den to kitchen and part of wall that will have a pool table. I will take a picture of the whole room when have daylight.

From all the renovations that I now see are going on, what to do intend to install as a floor covering and I presume you'll also be putting up gypse on the ceiling... Looks like a hight ceiling, do you know approximately how high?

Honestly I never thought about it. The ceilings in all my rooms were removed because of water from Hurricane Ida.

I would say gypse (drywall) is the cheapest way to go for your ceiling.
